Bumping this thread because I've heard nothing and now run across yet another Blu-ray with the *exact* same issue: 'Fantastic Four - Rise of the Silver Surfer'.
Surely I can't be the only one seeing this issue?

Re: Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest => bad SAR &
I don't immediately see anything amiss and have attached it last. It think it is in the stream rather than the container/headers. On that note just below are a few frames of the ffdshow OSD, first normal: ;Input description: ;Input aspect ratio: ;Movie length: ;Input size and aspect ratio: ;Input bi...

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest => bad SAR & DAR
I believe every one of the 100 or so blurays I have ripped to date have had an input aspect ratio SAR=1:1 and DAR=16:9. They display fine with the correct aspect ratio. However the mkv (using the latest makemkv 1.6.16) of 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest' reports a SAR=65509:45568 & D...

Re: Fatal error in 1.6.6/1.6.7 when opening blu-ray drive
Had this problem in 1.6.6 and 1.6.7. Haven't finished extracting a BluRay yet but it has made it past the disc analysis stage where it was crashing before and seems to be trucking OK on extraction; however it seems slower than normal or gears down occasionally (perhaps some extra debugging code in t...

Re: Upgraded to latest MakeMKV and now getting fatal errors
Ditto here. Similar problem to 1.6.4 but at least that was only on exit. 1.6.6 is unusable for me. I've noticed the latest releases have these stability problems that never seemed to occur before. <= 1.6.3 was rock solid, basic UI wise, from my experience.

Re: A fatal error occurred - v1.6.4
Ditto here. WinXP. Doesn't seem to do it if I let it "rest" a while before shutting down with no disc in the drive.
Definitely something new. MakeMKV has previously been rock solid for me.

Thought I should mention that as of 1.6.3 this title is working now.

Re: Reign of Fire
Just for the heck of it I tried to rip the backup files and it also ended in an error:

Re: Reign of Fire
Backup (without decrypting anything) went just fine, no errors. Another try at ripping yeilded an almost identical error:

Reign of Fire
I am trying to rip the Bluray of 'Reign of Fire' but it keeps failing part way through. The disc is in very good condition. Interestingly enough this one has caused problems before, albeit apparently as a DVD: http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1292 Attached is the log. ReignOfFir...

Re: TrueHD "core" vs. other DD track
That is because, of course there is a Blu-ray requirement that there be a legacy AC3 track in the same language as the main audio of the movie. On every English-language movie with TrueHD there will be at least one English language AC3 track, Yup, knew that bit. and in most cases there will be two:...

Re: TrueHD "core" vs. other DD track
I'm not understanding your question, but heres what I can tell you from your picture. 1. Your 1st check-boxed Audio Stream is either a DTS for AC3 standalone stream. 2. Your bluray as A TrueHD Track which has a inter-weaved. 3. All TrueHD streams always have an identical ac3 stream (around 640 kbps...

Re: TrueHD "core" vs. other DD track
What though is the purpose of, or what advantage is there to, presenting the AC3 track as two selections that do the same thing? I'm pretty sure the bluray doesn't have two identical copies in the full stream.
