Using Python library dejavu to identify TV Shows
After having ripped Twin Peaks blu-ray I got a bit tired of identifying the episodes. This got me thinking. Maybe a solution to this would be to audio-fingerprint episodes, put them in a database and then one could use that to identify them, much like Shazam does for music. I'm a Java developer, unf...

Any chance of seeing MakeMKV in USC
Is there any chance of MakeMKV being submitted to the Ubuntu Software Centre? It would make installing, and updating, and not least purchasing MakeMKV so much easier.

REPLY (preferably using fuse ).
VLC now apparently has experimental bdj support (although it isn't activated for end users yet).

Really? Cool. I guess I'll be purchasing some Criterion filmsmike admin wrote:Unlike DVD drives BD drives don't enforce region coding. MakeMKV should open disc for any region.

Re: Feature Request: Eject Disc after ripping
Would also be nice if MakeMKV would make some sort of sound when it is done. Like Handbrake does, so I don't have to constantly check how long is left.

Re: Requested Improvement to Interface
I am in no way assosiated with this software, but I can probably help answer a couple of your questions. The reason MakeMKV doesn't start opening the disc automaticly is because there are certain features you can access that don't require this to be done. One such feature is the backup function whic...

Re: Media Players, lets discuss!
I use Mac OS 10.6 and I almost always use VLC. I agree that it looks a bit washed out when compared to quicktime, but quicktime isn't capable of smooth video playback of the 1080p movies I rip with MakeMKV and encode with Handbrake. VLC handles them just fine. Also, the fact that I can watch BD rips...

I just had trouble finding any similar posts when searching google, so I presumed pgs support was considered stable and that it might have been a problem my end .

VLC and PGS not flawless?
I've been trying to view some movies with PGS subtitles in VLC and all the films have problems with the subtitles. Basicly, the subtitles don't go away when people stop talking. Instead they stay on screen untill they get replaced by the next sentance. The problem is that even if there is no dialog ...

Re: On the fly decryption
Nice one skittle. I was not aware of this. Well, that's a very good reason for someone to develop a on-the-fly decrypter as we would be able to watch encrypted blu-ray discs on our mac without ripping. That would be great. [EDIT] I just opened a backup I made of Seven Pounds in VLC. I simply selecte...

Re: On the fly decryption
What exactly you mean by the fact that it can't do it by itself, I don't know, but you don't need any aditional programs to do so. Reading the structure of an unencrypted bd is now built inn. http://forum.handbrake.fr/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=17816 That's the discussion from when they were implementi...

On the fly decryption
I was wondering if the MakeMKV team has considered making a program that would do on-the-fly decryption of BD movies. I'm sure most of use use MakeMKV for use with Handbrake. Handbrake is now capable of reading blu-ray disc structures which means we don't actually need the mkv file format. I was the...

Re: MakemMKV and Subler 0.9.7?
I tried doing the exact same thing yesterday with a BD rip of Hollow Man with the same result. I got very choppy sound and no video. VLC was also unable to play the file. I was originally trying to do this because I wanted to see what Quicktime 7.0 Pro would be like for converting BD content to Appl...

Re: Can't convert mkv produced from MakeMKV
Are you including subtitles in your BD rip? My experience is that Handbrake always has problems reading mkv files that have PGS subtitle tracks in them. This irritates me to no end. I seriously hope this Handbrake bug gets patched sooner or later.
