Re: Ripping Dolby Atmos into MKV
If my assumption is right, the only discs you should re-rip are Atmos discs where movies are split between multiple m2ts parts  . Except Disney & Pixar, i almost never see such discs. Yes, discs where the whole movie is just one segment don't need to be re-ripped. You might also see it...

Re: Ripping Dolby Atmos into MKV
But new Blu-ray players and specifically UHD-Blu-ray players don't seem to have an issue with that anymore. Is there any indication of how they handle this problem? I can't imagine that they rely on heuristics internally?! Wouldn't it theoretically be possible to reverse-engineer e.g. PowerDVD for ...

Re: Ripping Dolby Atmos into MKV
@HEVCc, seems like there's no TrueHD stream on that disk. What blu-ray is it, and what's the output of `ffprobe D:\BDMV\STREAM\01108.m2ts`?

Re: Ripping Dolby Atmos into MKV
Thank you! :) That's a good question and I've been wondering that myself. It's kind of complicated. It's certainly possible to fix existing tracks to some degree by having a pass over the TrueHD stream and removing duplicate frames. That would, for example, catch that segment transition I pictured. ...

Re: Ripping Dolby Atmos into MKV
This issue has been bothering me more than it should over the last few months, so I ended up writing my own tool because still no demuxer (including MakeMKV 1.15.1) handles TrueHD flawlessly. https://github.com/domyd/mlp The core issue was never Atmos or high bitrate. It is simply caused by demuxers...

Re: Ripping Dolby Atmos into MKV
I've also recently encountered the TrueHD glitch issue, again exclusively with Pixar/Disney Animation titles (MakeMKV version 1.14.7). Wrote it up in this post before I was pointed to this thread.
Ripping it with CloneBD (1.2.8.1) fixed the glitch for me on the Finding Nemo disc.

Audible "pop" in TrueHD track remux on some UHD disks
When remuxing certain UHD disks (examples below), the resulting .mkv file always has one or more audible pops at the same spot. Those spots are always where two blu-ray segments are spliced together (i.e. during a cut between segment A and segment B). It doesn't happen between _all_ segments, only s...
