Re: VERBATIM Ultra HD 4K External Slimline Blu‑ray Writer #:43888
After reading through this thread: https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=36881 I decided to try to flash the drive anyway. Might as well before returning it to the store where I bought it ;-) That solved the problem. MakeMKV now sees the drive as a LibreDrive and I can rip my blu-rays. Hav...

Re: VERBATIM Ultra HD 4K External Slimline Blu‑ray Writer #:43888
Thanks for your reply I have tried on 2 different PCs. Running same Linux OS. I also tried copying the content of the disk to my NAS and let MakeMKV open the files from disk. That resulted in the application estimating some 8 hours to open the disk. Roughly 20 GB data… It also gave tons of errors in...

Re: VERBATIM Ultra HD 4K External Slimline Blu‑ray Writer #:43888
The issue is that it doesn't seem to work with standard blu-rays either. The disk is spinning and MakeMKV seems to try to read the content but nothing happens (except the CPU seems to be under heavy load because the fan is spinning like crazy). I'm wondering if I need to flash the drive like it is d...

Re: VERBATIM Ultra HD 4K External Slimline Blu‑ray Writer #:43888
I just bought this drive and tried to rip a Bluray disk. MakeMKV version 1.18.1. OS is Linux Mint. When I try to open the disk in MakeMKV I see this: Drive Information OS device name: /dev/sr1 Manufacturer: HL-DT-ST Product: BD-RE BU40N Revision: 1.05 Serial number: **************** Firmware date: 2...

Re: script to convert to mkv
I tried the batch converter which was mentioned in the first thread but the application stopped working roughly midway through the first movie. It looks pretty cool though. You can define which soundtracks to include based on language preferences and the same with subtitles. However it looks like it...

Re: script to convert to mkv
Thanks, I might try the first one. The other thread is very old so I'm guessing that things have changed a lot since then

Re: script to convert to mkv
OK, thanks for the reply. At least it won't take as long as the ripping process

script to convert to mkv
Hi, I have ripped my disks to BDMV folders and in a few instances iso files. I am thinking about converting everything to mkv so Plex can understand what to do with them. Would anyone have a script (Windows) that can look through folders and convert everything to mkv? Everything is on hard drives so...

Fastest drive for ripping large collection
Hi, I have been looking at the friendly drives list to find a fast drive to rip my collection of 4k blu-rays. I don't see any that are significantly faster than around 1 hour to rip movies between 50 and 80 GB in size. What would be the fastest one available today? Preferably an external drive Thank...

Problem ripping Atmos music
Hi,
I've tried ripping a couple of Atmos music discs but I have sound dropping out frequently. An example is INXS Kick. Any ideas for fixing this?
