Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
BDMV support is great, just got my Ugoos and installed the stable CoreELEC 21.0-Omega release. However, when I play BDMV or .ts/m2ts dual track, double layer DV content, the video only plays in HDR, not DV. Do I miss something, maybe? DTDL support is under active development so it is only available...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
@RESET_9999 Not sure if you already tested this, but apparently there's a new developer setting in the latest Shield firmware that lets you toggle on a "default to rec.709" setting for hd videos that fixes the Shield's color issues (not sure if it's the red push specifically). Might be wor...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Anyone by any chance has a profile 8.1 file test clip with truehd (6 channels) and dolby vision? they know that works on shield tv pro? either im doing something wrong in mkvtoolnix or my settings are wrong somewhere else cause the file only plays hdr10 when truehd is active, and dolby vision with a...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Has anybody tried the new https://www.mi.com/global/product/xiaomi-tv-stick-4k/ it seems to officially support HD Audio (DTS HD) as well as Dolby Vision. When I receive mine i’ll test if FEL playbacks correctly while also having HD Audio Passthrough. Looks like from the article here, https://www.xd...

Re: Remux Dolby Vision dual track to single track ?
This is exactly what yusecope's tool did before it was implemented in makemkv. I thought quietvoid's new dovi_tools might have incorporated it, but looks like it only includes the demux option and not the other way around. Yusecope's tool hasn't been updated in a while, but you can find the last ver...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Fairly certain you won’t be able to get lossless audio out of the LG Oled TV, doesn’t matter if it’s earc/passthrough - the tv (CX onwards) doesn’t support DTS/DTS-HD/Dolby TrueHD. If you are trying to get a Blu-ray playing ‘fully’ I.e. profile 7 Dolby vision and lossless audio, you’ll need an exte...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I know there is the bluray player oppo clone M9205 but what is this 65$ version? if it's only missing a bluray disc drive , I don't mind at this price as long as it can play rip via network or usb. http://www.hdlsl.com/ https://i.ibb.co/8gLvD0m/Capture.png I’m pretty sure that’s just the upfront am...

Just got a Zidoo z9x player.. works great for any file I played but tv-led has the wrong bt2020 flag as well SMH :( https://i.ibb.co/zQxmdHY/dv-bt2020.png The x700, the Shield, the appleTV, the firestick, Chromecast, Ugoos: https://i.ibb.co/180Rz1r/dv.png colors are mostly accurate, still have to c...

Re: Dolby Vision Dual PID/Single PID vs Dual LayerSingle Layer
It’s still valid. DV mkvs are still dual layer with the EL just now on the same PID (video track) as the BL, hence why you see BL+El+RPU in media info and not just BL+RPU like a single layer P5 or P8 file. Only caveat in that original statement is that i don’t think DVDFab ever did what makemkv and ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
In the case of Ted Lasso, are you just doing a straight P5 to P8 conversion? Then for star wars, you’re going throught the whole process of RPU extraction from P5 and applying it to the UHD HDR10 layer to get P8? If so, and I’m not sure if this has been asked already, but is quietvoid’s tool doing a...

dvdfab doesn't support ripping of DV into mkvs as far as I know, so that's the difference

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I've been quiet but I'm still reading this thread. :) I agree with you , the bitrate upgrade totally worth it if the conversion is properly done and from a quick test session, I don't see any difference between the original P5 and the converted P8 file. I even muxed two different video sources: thi...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
So far there has not been any objective comparison between original profile 5 and converted profile 8. Sounds like a challenge for @RESET_9999 and @Mannix if they're still around! The bitrate upgrade in the hybrid may be worth the trouble if the comparisons look relatively similar in terms of brigh...
