Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Looks like the new appleTV still wont support profile 8.... https://www.apple.com/apple-tv-4k/specs/ Bruhh I really like AppleTV as my main streaming device but they're really making it hard for people to like them. I think the few titles Hulu has in DV are Profile 8. How do you watch these with Ap...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
@ragico just tested and it's working in MP4 P8 DVH1 + LPCM audio. sample: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lsSQUUeyAjT6BF8J-NMeB0-GnJvJ2KO0/view?usp=sharing so we dont have to use fake P5 on the ATV, this is great news. Apple native player = DV with rpu working PLEX = DV but rpu not working Infuse ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I'm seeing more and more WEB-DL releases with the original P5 RPU converted to P8, I'm guessing for maximum compatibility plus no need to release HDR separately. Is there anything lost in the P5 > P8 conversion?

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Do you need an ethernet adapter to play 4k remux files without buffering? I assume you mean at least Fast Ethernet or GigE? Fast Ethernet may not be enough with UHD discs spec'd for peaks well above 100mbps. GigE would be the safe bet or at least solid 5g WiFi (which is what I'm using with my Sony ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Hmm, I can't see any difference even with WebOS Plex here.. Have a look when you have time, could be my tired eyes. yeah, it could be that there's actually no brightness variation in the whole 1 minute. I'll try to make a better sample and test it on my end first. Edit: Does the CCwGTV support fram...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
In other news, somebody on Reddit told me that LG WebOS should be able to play DV from MKV as long it's profile 5. Still it doesn't trigger DV playback on my C8 :( So it seems there's no way to make MKV trigger DV at all? I don't think any TVs or bluray players will ever support any DV profile in M...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
So I'm now even more convinced that 1, the dynamic metadata are working properly and 2 , the slight color difference with HDR10 is caused by the LLDV bug (because we can't capture tv-led) *** appleTV files color issues is not related to this though 1- one of these sample RPU is synced properly and ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I think the Sony dv support is the worst. Sony implemented a modification to Dolby Vision support by which most of the processing for playback of content with this kind of high dynamic range formatting is offloaded to the device from which it came from instead of being done inside the TV itself. Th...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Has anyone made a single-layer remux of Rambo: Last Blood with DVDFab? So far I've only made two before; Casino Royale and Gemini Man, both played fine and looked fantastic on my 2019 Philips Android TV with MX Player. I use 1536k E-AC-3 audio on my personal remuxes for maximum compatibility.. Plus...
