The Ryan DV DL 07.06.mp4 did trigger DV in PLEX for my TCL tv. Looked Great. So did the mkv HDR10 file. The Ryan DV SL 05.06.mp4 did trigger DV but the scene was almost all dark. HDR10 should look right, the sky is very smooth SL 05.06 should look wrong, too dark and the light sky is pumping. DL 07...

CX9? Do you mean the LG OLED CX or the LG OLED C9? Can the UBK90 install apps like Emby or Plex to play DV mp4s over a network? Wouldn't you be able to test if the CX can decode 2x HEVC at the same time by muxing a DV mp4 with the main HEVC from one film and the EL from a different film? I did this...

The HDR10 plays without Errors.

If you play the EL alone (Ryan) on MPC you see the brightness flashing.

Don't know how the RPU can make the brightness pumping playing the DV without EL.

Buy private Ryan and test yourself! If U don't believe me.

100% Sure.

In (rare) films with FEL, such as Private Ryan, omitting the EL leads to errors. In this case, the brightness pumps into bright scenes and dark scenes are far too dark. Otherwise I might not have noticed.

@hansooloo I created: DV SL and played it on the LG CX media player.

LotR has an empty EL (called MEL), so no need to create a DL Stream.

I use the ape to create mp4 DV (SL & DL) from BDMV.

I bought the BluRay Player LG UBK90 for 138€. Now its 131,60 €.
It can play DV Dual Layer mp4.
