Well, according to advertising, the old UH12NS40 was just a BD reader, if I understand correctly. It burns DVDs and CDs, but not BDs. but it is the same drive platform as the WH14NS40 so ???????

I have both of the above. Looking at the MakeMKV drive info, it appears that they are both "platform MT1959" drives. Does this mean that they both have the same capabilities? In particular, can I flash the UH12NS40 with WH14NS40 firmware? What would happen if I did, and tried to write a BD...
