Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Ahh! I never knew what that meant but now I think I do. Single layer means it's embedded into the base layer (?) video track and dual layer means it has a separate video track? Does MakeMKV automatically convert the dual layer into a single layer? For example, Back To The Future appears to be dual l...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

I thought the enhancement layer was stored as a separate video track though?

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Thanks ... Also, is it possible to check if a disc is FEL or MEL using MediaInfo?

I thought the FEL/MEL is encoded as a separate video track but I've checked tons of full remux rips and all of them only have a single video track? (for example, Back To The Future)

Is this lossless?

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Well, the only group I would 100% trust is 3L and it's only because I know him personally and I know that he always does all the necessary checks. Same for their Black Widow release and others. Can you check the 3L release of Black Widow? They released DV HYBRID but according to your spreadsheet th...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Can anybody help me understand the more technical details of Dolby Vision (and HDR10[+])? Here is my basic understanding: 1) HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision metadata is stored as packets (NAL/SEI units) inside the HEVC stream. 2) Dolby Vision calls its metadata "Reference Picture Units (RPU)&qu...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Does anybody know if CoreElec (with the AM6B+) supports BD-J with ISO playback?

I know that ripping UHDs to MKV is more convenient (and allows you to use Plex, etc) but it might be nice to have the "full disc experience" ?

Does anybody else do this or is this a waste of time? :)

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Thank you so much for the help and the information.

Do you recommend avoiding any hybrid release that is not on your spreadsheet?

Are there hybrid groups that are more trustworthy? (for example, anything from Framestor or Wildcast should be OK?)

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Does anybody know how to interpret RESET_1999's grade/master check spreadsheet? For example, the movie 300 is listed as a movie where the DV can be injected into the bluray but it lists iTunes as the DV source. Does this mean the Framestor hybrid isn't correct? There also movies in that same table b...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Sorry if this is off-topic but what is the best playback using Windows on a PC ultrawide monitor?

I’ve purchased the AM6B+ for my OLED TVs but I would also like to play my UHD remuxes on my ultrawide monitor.

My ultrawide does support HDR (not Dolby vision) but it’s not great.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

If I understand correctly, the three best devices are the following:

UGOOS AM6B plus
UGOOS AM6 plus
Minix u22x-j max

Is this correct? What's the difference between them and is there any recommendation for the one best option?

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Is there a current best player?

I've looked at RESET_9999's spreadsheet and it seems like all of them have several problems?

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

I will compare more movies this weekend, but I'm 99% sure that using the internal player renders better quality (regarless of FEL and lossless audio). Thanks for the information. I should have mentioned I was asking about FEL playback which the LG C1 cannot play. :( I've placed an order (but cancel...
