Re: Downton Abbey Complete Series on Blu-ray

Hello, dcoke22, I would like to clarify one of my prior comments in case you read it as being critical of you. Specifically, when I wrote that power supply would not be my first culprit, I meant that in the following context. I couldn't understand why ripping one 50-minute episode of this show would...

Re: Downton Abbey Complete Series on Blu-ray

My drive’s power supply is 12V 3A. The Downton Abbey set includes 21 Blu ray disks of which 18 were ripped without a problem and 3 were partially ripped. Moreover, after ripping Downton Abbey, I successfully ripped a 2-hour movie from a 4K disk. Thus, a power deficiency wouldn’t be my first guess as...

Re: Downton Abbey Complete Series on Blu-ray

Hi, dcoke22, My drive, which I bought from Billy, resides in a powered case that I bought several years ago. I often watch TV while ripping longer files. What I noticed when each of the bad files was being ripped is that the light on the powered case would flash enough to draw my attention away from...

Downton Abbey Complete Series on Blu-ray

I ripped all the blu-ray disks yesterday, which required most of the day because four episodes will not rip. They are Episode 7 of Series One, Episodes 1 and 3 of Series Three, and Episode 7 of Series Four. After finishing with the blu-rays, I ripped a new 4K movie without any problems. The MakeMKV ...

I wasn't able to update the KEYDV.cfg file, so I'm posting here. Thanks.

Re: Dump Submitted - Scarface (1932) Criterion

I created a MakeMKV folder where I found all of my MakeMKV log files and moved them and the keydb.cfg file into that new folder. Thanks for your help.

Re: Dump Submitted - Scarface (1932) Criterion

Hello, keydb_helper: I received my copy of Scarface yesterday afternoon. When it wouldn't open, I searched the forum and found your reply to canuckfan96. I found MKB20_v77_SCARFACE_1996.tgz on my NAS's directory under Media Files. The font was roughly half as dark as the font of the other items in t...

Re: My Synology DS1019+ NAS Has Died

Hello. I bought a Synology 1621+ and installed my old hard drives. HDD migration worked without a problem. For fun, I tried playing movies using the Plex app on my iPad Pro (2022). Two movies were 4K and one was blu ray. They played without any problem that I noticed. However, when I tried playing a...

Re: My Synology DS1019+ NAS Has Died

dcoke22: From what I can recall, my videos generally streamed "Direct Play." I can remember instances, however, in which transcoding audio tracks caused problems with playback. Woodstock: I noticed quite a bit of dust near the fans, so a good cleaning is in order. Tomorrow morning, I will ...

My Synology DS1019+ NAS Has Died

Hello. Unless a miracle occurs later today, I will have to replace my Synology DS1019+ NAS, which has about 40TB of video files (DVD, Blu-ray, 4K) running on 5 hard drives. Fortunately, I have a second DS1019+ that has a backup copy of my files. The backup NAS runs only when I'm backing up files, so...

Re: Hash Check Issue

Hello. I tried cleaning that Season One disc with denatured alcohol, but that didn’t change the outcome. This disc doesn’t appear to be damaged. Then, I turned off and rebooted my computer and cleaned another problematic disc in that set and asked MakeMKV to make a backup. The backup was made, but n...

Re: Hash Check Issue

My external drive is AC powered.

A couple of times I bought a 4K movie that MakeMKV could not rip because of some issue with Hash Check. I was surprised to see that problem arise with an old set of bluray discs.
