Just today I ripped my (german) Zootopia 2 BluRay. MakeMKV showed me the main movie in two playlists. in 00800 vor the English texts and (I think it was) 01714 for the German texts. You have to select the correct playlist to rip. PS: my Bluray ONLY has German and English... not a single other audio,...

Trying to be a positive example here. never had any problems with the Vantec NexStar DX and never any problems with the Vantec NexStar DX 2 with all of my three drives within one of them.

Maybe DVDshrink would be a better tool for you then. Though it is quite old, and can't cope with some DVD copy protections.

Which streams are listed when you open the DVD with MakeMKV on the appropriate track?

I've found a workaround on Reddit, first backing up the Blu-ray using MakeMKV, then delete the PLAYLIST folder from that backup and then use MakeMKV to rip that backup. Besides, m2ts files (as much as I know) don't have any information about chapters or language tags. One should work with the corresponding playlist.

Once you ripped every extra video, one wouldn't really need the structure anymore, I would have thought.

I do know, that a very few DVDs place extra videos within the menu part of the disc, which MakeMKV cannot make a video from, but I have only like 1 or 2 DVDs with that.

Out of curiousity, where do one see this history in the program? For some reason I don't.

To rip the discs, you could try DVD Decrypter with a low retry count (or even 0, if we assume the "damaged" bits are all just the copy protection). Though i can take quite a while. I had discs with 28000 bad sectors. DVD Decrypter even tries to analyze, if there are "protected" a...

Personally, on Windows, BluRay/UHD menus usually only work at all for me if I use Java 8 (or having the path to it set in the JAVA_HOME variable).

I think, external drives do need 12 Volts, and power banks usually only give 5 Volts.

Or is it a slim drive only having USB? does it have two USB cables you would both need to use?
