Re: MKV file made by MakeMKV and Perian on a Mac = bad
Well I would personally not use quicktime as it's crap at playing anything other than apples formats very well. I suggest you use Plex http://www.plexapp.com/ or Mplayer http://mplayerosx.sttz.ch/ as these are much better at playing the resultant files as well as Blu-Ray rips, Plex being better at t...

Re: mkv file freezes during playback
Well for a start I would use the latest version 1.5.1 which could resolve your issue or try some other software like Plex or MPlayer Extended for instance. If none of these exhibit the same freezing then I'd be more inclined to suggest it's the playback software your using not MakeMKV. Cheers g1nger...

Re: BluRay Ripping Speed
I am not convinced it's a HDD issue since it appears when reading at only 4MB/s! I am quite certain 7200rpm drives can write at 25+MB/s. The error which really isn't an error needs correcting since it's misleading. Also this message appears when ripping DVD's as well as Bluray discs. Cheers g1ngerni...

Re: Resident Evil Apocalypse
Mike, Just to be sure I have run this disk on a compiled version under Mandriva 2009 and the same problem occurs. However the debug messages are different which I have attached. Also the Linux version doesn't jush crash it just says "Copy Complete. 0 Titles saved, 1 failed." and returns to...

Re: Resident Evil Apocalypse
Mike, It failed again and I have another disk that has done the same thing X-Men! I have also tried this with 2 different drives, my Samsung SH-B083 Bluray and Sony DW-D150A DVD-ROM that came with the mac pro both do exactly the same thing. I attach the log file for analysis. Any further suggestions...

Re: BluRay Ripping Speed
Hi Claudio, I have the one pictured at the bottom but there are 2 versions of this, I have the one with LightScribe. I have a Mac Pro (2006) and using 7200rpm SATA2 (3Gbps) drive. I have seen that message now but only shows up if Log debug messages is enabled, which isn't by default. Cheers g1ngerni...

Resident Evil Apocalypse
Looks like there is an issue with the above Region 2 film being ripped. Extracts about 3GB of 4GB even though the progress bar has gotten to the end and then report there was a fatal error and quits. The resultant file only contains the AC3 audio according to MediaInfo and is not playable in VLC or ...

Re: List of Blu-ray drives that work
I can confirm that the Samsung SH-B083 works just fine when connected to one of the spare SATA ports in my Mac Pro (2006). I got mine from here http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Samsung-Blu-Ray-Combo-Player-8x-BD-ROM-16x-DVD-ROM-48x-CD-ROM-Read-LightScribe-Retail . However the read speed which should b...
