Re: 3D MKV files
An old thread, I know, but I just started to covert my 3D BD’s with above mentioned method and I’m not sure I’m doing it correctly as the final output file is a third from the original mkv (from 15.6GB to 5.1GB Can you guys confirm this? If not, my settings must be somehow wrong - I didn’t change th...

Re: How to flash a BU40N_1.01?
The Drives Guide, linked above, is kept up to date by the folks who know the most about drive firmware. That guide says: It doesn't say anything about 1.00 or 1.04. The guide is detailed and informative. There's no 1.03-file anymore in the newest pack, only 1.04 - tried it now and it worked ;) Than...

Re: How to flash a BU40N_1.01?
This is a reasonable example for flashing a drive on a Mac: https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=23129 The Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2021 ( https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=19634 ) suggests putting BU40N drives on 1.03MK. Others on this forum ...

Re: LG BU40N, flashed & can't read 4K UHD (Solved!)
You forgot to include the command line you used to try & flash the drive. Copy/paste what you typed into the terminal when you tried to flash the drive. You probably left off a "./" at the beginning, which indicates the sdftool is in your current directory. Just to make sure: My drive...

Re: LG BU40N, flashed & can't read 4K UHD (Solved!)
You need to provide the full command line you attempted to use. You probably left the path off the command line. Where is the sdftool located (on a Mac, it's normally in the MakeMKV app, located in /Applications)? Where do you have MakeMKV installed? What is your current directory (type `pwd` to fi...

Re: LG BU40N, flashed & can't read 4K UHD (Solved!)
I cannot seem to make the sdftool to work - tried the same syntax as you but I only get: -bash: sdftool: command not found What is wrong? Do you have perhaps a 101-instruction? ;) Or is there an interface in the meantime to flash with MacOS? You need to provide the full command line you attempted t...

Yes, just saw MIke's post about those Samsung drives and mine seems not supported and probably never will be:
So one wonders why it still says "Possible, not yet enabled" in makemkv...

Re: Attempting to flash in macOS
Thanks for this fine "how-to-do"
My problem is only, that my drive is not in the patch list, even if is has the status "possible, not yet enabled" in makemkv:
Can anybody help me here?

Re: UHD Friendly / Official 4K
I already sent in a dump of the firmware. So if you need a drive working now with UHDs, better go with the Asus. Update: with the new 1.46 release MakeMKV starts to read an UHD but then says that a libre-compatible drive is needed... Do you get a "keep fingers crossed" status on the right...

Re: How To Rip a 3d bluray?
I have to reactivate this thread as I'm also stuck with this issues - my goal is to play those 3D-mkv's with vlc or Infuse on an Apple TV (with my Samsung 3D TV). Blu rays are fine but I prefer having everything on my NAS. So now I started to make .mkv files WITH the MVC 3D track - but I don't under...

Re: Feature addition: auto-eject disc after rip?
I do second this feature request as sometimes the disc is not ejected at all and I have to replug my drive and press the small fidgety button...smokeywhitetown wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2019 1:56 pmWould love to see this feature added. It's very handy having this option in MacDVDRipperPro (MDRP). Would love to see this come to MakeMKV.
