Re: Not Compatable with Mac BIG SUR
I also had no problem ripping a UHD 4K disc with v1.15.3 on Big Sur 11.0.1. If anything it appeared to be pushing faster read speeds (might be my imagination though).

Re: Not Compatable with Mac BIG SUR
v1.15.3 Installed without error and opens Ok on Big Sur here. Haven't tried ripping anything as no UHD discs knocking about at the mo (which is all I use it for).

Re: MakeMKV no longer ripping on my Mac with the new Catalina update...getting errors
Seems like the Catalina update is causing all sorts of headaches across numerous apps. I have seen report of 4k and 5k monitors now suddenly not working at full resolutions, and some other hardware not functioning as previously. Do you have a clone you could roll back to of the base Catalina (which ...

Mac version OK for LibreDrive?
Hi
Does the mac version of MakeMKV support LibreDrive mode on a properly flashed drive?
I have two perfectly working drives in an old pc and want to put them both into USB enclosures and run them off a new imac I will be shortly receiving.
Will that work?
Cheers

Place fully flashed and working drive into external - work?
Evening all I have two fully working LibreDrive units in my (quite old) pc and I've recently snapped up an iMac from a closing down sale which is 2018 spec and WAY more powerful. I use OSX every day so know my way around it - my question is whether I can take either (or both) of the perfectly workin...

Re: Ironman 1/2/3 Boxset - error after 15-20GB when ripping the UHD disks
I used Marty's flashing app on page 1 of the mega thread and asked him which firmware to use, he replied:
For a WH14NS40, if you only plan to use the drive with MakeMKV, then go with firmware WH16NS60 1.00.
Cheers

Just FYI I bought the LG drive which arrived yesterday and it is working perfectly, reading all the discs that in my Asus drive gave the SCSI error that you have encountered.
It rips the discs much faster too.
Hope you get a good one when it arrives.

Re: NEW OPTION: 'UHD Friendly' Firmware Downgrade / Cross-Flash Using Official (Modified) ASUS Flasher for ASUS & LG Dri
Hi all
Just wanted to let anyone considering the LG drive know that it has arrived, I flashed it and it has read all of the discs that the Asus refused - and MUCH faster read speed too.
Hopefully this has cracked it from here on. Thanks for all who helped out.

Re: NEW OPTION: 'UHD Friendly' Firmware Downgrade / Cross-Flash Using Official (Modified) ASUS Flasher for ASUS & LG Dri
Thanks Marty
I gave all the discs a pretty thorough clean off prior to trying them.
I've ordered an LG which is coming today, hopefully that will mean I have 2 functioning drives that between the two should cope with those troublesome discs (and any others going forward).
Thanks again

Re: NEW OPTION: 'UHD Friendly' Firmware Downgrade / Cross-Flash Using Official (Modified) ASUS Flasher for ASUS & LG Dri
Hi Marty The drive is connected as the only optical inside the PC, not via external enclosure or cable adaptor. I have subsequently borrowed another UHD disc and tried that and it worked 100%. It still won't even read the other two discs I have, just comes back with the same SCSI error. The suggest ...

:( :( After the failure of my first attempt it gets worse. Now my drive is refusing to scan my UHD discs let alone rip them ( i have tried two) and is just hanging with this error (and more the same but with different offset positions): Error 'Scsi error - MEDIUM ERROR:L-EC UNCORRECTABLE ERROR' occu...
