Re: Asus BW-16D1HT Firmware
I'm now having similar issues, going to try and resolve through Alex as it's not even 6 months old. At first I thought the drive was just being a bit funny with some 4K discs so thought it's OK, it then refused to read a standard BR disc, reads DVDs but now refuses to read any BR discs, just resulti...

Re: Forced Subs on Blu-Ray seems a bit random?
It depends on the media player that you are using also. If you have an Oppo for example, you will need to select the correct subtitle and it will display correctly while the movie is playing. I burn forced only and then pick whichever works with the movie. I use a Mede8er and you have to select the...

Excellent, thanks for this. I may start my ripping again and make a list of all the discs I have
I just wish it didn't take so long to rip them!

Forced Subs on Blu-Ray seems a bit random?
I finally got round to starting to rip my collection and after figuring out what FOrced Subs was I started using that. Some discs this has worked fine, i.e. Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. However I ripped Kill Bill Vol 1 last night, selected only forced subs on both English tracks and I hav...

Re: Problems with mkvs created with 1.7.0 and Oppo BDP93/Two
The funny thing is Oppo claim that they have no issues with compression. I'm guessing there maybe a combination of things which is irritating as no-one company/person involved in the chain will admit it's their problem :/

Re: Problems with mkvs created with 1.7.0 and Oppo BDP93/Two
I can somewhat reproduce this. Serving MKV files from my desktop (Win7, older quad CPU, 8gb RAM) using PS3 Media server to an Oppo 93 over gigabit ethernet. MKV files ripped using MakeMKV take 50-60 seconds to start - mostly the hang is around 25% complete on the Oppo progress indicator. I'm not cu...

Re: Problems with mkvs created with 1.7.0 and Oppo BDP93/Two
I'm not sure to be honest. I've uploaded the file for Oppo to investigate so I'll see what they say.
I'll try and remember to do a quick check in mkvinfo.

Problems with mkvs created with 1.7.0 and Oppo BDP93/Twonky
Hi folks, I'm using the latest version to rip my DVDs but it seems to be causing issues with my player. Files either take ages to start or crash the player completely. If I remux the files with mkvmerge making sure I turn off header compression it works fine. Is there anyway this can be made an opti...

Thanks for this, it proved to be the same problem I've had.mike admin wrote:It's a known bug in 1.6.10 . Please try de-selecting all subtitle tracks as a workaround.

Odd anamorphic playback problems with PAL DVDs?
Hi, First of all great program! I've started ripping my DVDs to MKV and have come across a problem with anamorphic discs on the PS3. First of all I've tried: 1. Streaming mkv to PS3 via PS3 Media Server which uses TsMuxer to split the video (i.e. no reencoding going on) 2. Converting mkv to m2ts wit...
