i will try this. is this just an experiment, or can you explain the intended function of this preference choice?
When that option is checked, each instance of MakeMKV you launch will ask which ODD you'd like ...

Make it so when an new instance launches, i can DISABLE AUTOMATIC POLLING, and MANUALLY SELECT a DRIVE/DISC!!!

it was a brand new disk out of the package -- untouched by human hands.

I pull in 3 disks at once. MakeMKV's.is so dumb when it comes to dealing with multiple instances.

i ran into a Read error (DVD media) while trying to read a dvd that was a bit messy and banged up. in my pioneer BLUERAY device, it was failing to read even with all the fancy new error handling...

tried washing and buffing the disk...

...finally decided to try an older DVD drive, and got lucky ...

First blu-ray drive. Is it just me, or does blu-ray take FOREVER compared to dvd??

Hey Woodstock I figured out how to get my dictator movie to copy using direct access mode on make mkv.so I don't think I will need to post debug logs for this issue.still another fun learning experience in getting hardware and software to work correctly. :wink: .
