Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Let's assume that Ugoos AM6B Plus is stable with FEL - will it be better in terms of image quality than x800m2? Since it supports true tv-led, for cmv2.9 content it should be the same quality. ...not according to Stacey Spears because of bugs in the UHD Blu-ray Dolby Vision v2.9 SDK (time-stamped t...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Just a heads up in case you haven't heard: Our old and well hated friend the UGOOS AM6+ rises from the dead. With the latest CoreELEC 20.3 Nexus version, it finally supports proper Dolby Vision FEL decoding with HD audio passthrough. I just installed it on my device (I have the AM6b+), configured a...

You could always just migrate over to a madVR setup if you prefer to use a PC.sw5163 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 2:38 amok thanks, at this point I think I'm giving up on playing movies on PC.RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 9:18 pmno i think the OS HDR always sends incorrect static HDR10 metadata.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I doubt it. Was raised on my C8, and it's still raised on my C2. C8 was worse though and the white balance trick didn't work on my end. How are you defining raised blacks? I've had to use a 10x jeweler's loupe to see the first couple steps immediately above black (on a C9 and A95K - I'm not as crit...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
So perhaps, Wonka and the ones without 100nits L8 were done in cmv2.9 and upconverted to 4.0 for streaming requirements? or maybe the colorist just was lazy and did not make trims?? idk Are you seeing a similarity in the studios that are leaving out the 100-nit L8 Trim? I've been suspecting that it...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I don't think the guy who calibrated my TV changed the internal config and I never tried to get that info from my TV( I never mess with my C2). Idk how DV calibration works for C2 (check avsforum), but for the older 7 series, it’s a tedious procedure & $ equipment that in the end you load a DV ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Yes, I tested with two different TV (C8 and C2): x700 x800m2 shield ATV I doubt this is intentional otherwise it would also be ignored when you play the file with the TV internal player. So the C8 & C2 don't have the issue when you're using the internal player? How about Kodi? I want to test th...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
All the HDMI devices I tested will ignore any positive lift for Trim offset so it will reflect in a darker image. test file if you want to see it with your own eyes: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1JrU6JXOA2KAp8oeiHDllAHs5MyodpdXr/view?usp=drive_link This is a much bigger issue than the LLDV CW bu...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I don't think player-led is bad as long as it is done right. For example, it is said Panasonic player has the best tone mapping or picture quality. That's great if LLDV meets your needs. Still, my experience from testing the following players indicates a significant difference between Player-led an...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I see, I just hope I am not missing out too much by not having TV-LED. If you have a choice, then go TV-led. If you don't, then just use LLDV. The difference is typically substantial in my testing. How important it is to you should depend on a wide spectrum, ranging from something like a profession...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Good to know. I thought I wasted my money for a second because apperantly I cannot do TV-LED but with LLDV for real content there is no difference I guess. Aside from chroma weight what is wrong with LLDV? Does it have all those issues ragico stated? Or are those issues just with those other player...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Would this be able to play MKVs on my C9 that are Profile 7 FEL? Yes, I guess the ST P7 MKV would work on the C9 kodi app. Let us know if you try. I'll test this week and let you know. It would be amazing if it also can do lossless audio (I doubt it though based on others' experiences so far).

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
You have to sideload Kodi in developer mode but it's not too complicated to do and its pretty nice to finally have DV MKV support on LG TVs. https://kodi.wiki/view/HOW-TO:Install_Kodi_for_webOS Would this be able to play MKVs on my C9 that are Profile 7 FEL? I see the discussions currently that los...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
if the RPU is 4000nits it's fine but if the RPU is 1000nits like the majority of the movies, do not use DV on those devices. Zidoo can save TV edid. Zidoo can set customised edid. If my TV is 2000nits and I set Zidoo edid to 1000nits, would it work? If you want a Player-led device then I think you'...
