Re: BW-16D1HT Dead
for those interested I got another (retail box) of the BW-16D1HT made in 2021 with V3.1. I used the MK version here and all is good. Rips UHD and everything else perfectly. Much quieter drive than my one from 2017....much quieter!

Re: BW-16D1HT Dead
Yes I have fully powered it off numerous times. Once it powers on you hear the drive head move back and forth, but not matter what disc you insert it won't read it. Very strange.

BW-16D1HT Dead
So my BW-16D1HT no longer reads anything...no DVD, BR, UHD. What are the current best gotos for LibreDrives? I can get another BW-16D1HT, but it has been a while....will new ones need custom flashing? Not sure if the 4K holes were patched my Asus. If so, what are procedures? The drive I had was made...

Thanks! And I'm getting speeds 25-30 m/s, so it is good!SamuriHL wrote:Yes, 3.02 is the LAST firmware update you will ever take on that drive. Do NOT do anything beyond it.

Thanks. Just to verify, 3.02 is safe for UHD ripping? Thanks.TeddyRaspin wrote:You can find it here.ron spencer wrote:I have 3.01...can anyone point me to 3.02, which I guess is the last "safe" version to use. Are people ripping UHD fine with 3.02. I'd just like to be sure.

Re: Asus BW-16D1HT Firmware
That doesn't seem right, no. Well...I'll leave well enough alone then, unless I can hear from someone who has done the flash. 3.01 only increases rip speed I think. Is there no official 3.01 from Asus? I have done the flash from 3.00 to 3.01 and it worked fine. No, there's no "official" a...

Re: Asus BW-16D1HT Firmware
Ok, so when I go to flash the drive with the zip file via the link a few posts up, it says current version 3.00-06 and new version 1.00-A4 Is this what I want? I thought it was 3.01. Is this just the flash program saying 1.00-A4? Will the Asus drive say 3.01 after the flash or 1.00-A4
thx!

Re: Asus BW-16D1HT Firmware
I have just bought this drive...it is a January 2017 manufactuer date with firmware 3.0. If 3.01 is a faster rip and has no issues otherwise, where can I get 3.01 and how to flash? Or should I just leave well enough alone? thx! https://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?p=59110#p59110 Sorry to as...
