Borderlands - Benelux 4K Release - Bad Authoring?
I have this disc and there are multiple issues with the rip: 1. When ripped to MKV the Dolby Vision pulses brigtness changes constantly (This does not happen with a decrypted M2TS rip so I would guess is a MakeMKV issue) 2. The video playback is a bit choppy on my AM6B+ (Audio is fine, I guess this ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I have a rip from a 4K disc of mine which the Dolby Vision layers brightness pulses constantly (Its horrible) but a backup of the same disc using the same hardware works well. Does anyone know if this is likely a MakeMKV bug or UGoos AM6B software issue? The disc is slightly unusual in that it is Do...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Get the ugoos, all the other devices drop frames with FEL playback. CPM A14 has perfect playback and doesn't really need any update so we are good forever... I find PVR/TV playback has severe audio sync issues with the CPM build. CPM was well into supporting more multi channel PCM formats that the ...

Re: HDDVD Rip DD+ Compatibility Issues
The issue is a Kodi bug. Universal HDDVDs use DD+ at 256 samples per frame, normal DD+ is 1536 SPF. The player / player software must combine smaller audio frames like this into one larger frame to send over HDMI. Kodi correctly creates the larger frame but then sends duff audio frames so for a 256S...

Re: Ripping Dolby Atmos into MKV
Has anyone else noticed the issues with the Extremely high bit rate Beatles Atmos in Kodi? https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/issues/16704 I wonder if the issue with variable size TrueHD packets will be come more common. Still hoping the Kodi team will fix DD+ 256SPF bitstreaming too but since this mostly...

Re: 3D BD - Right Eye First Possible Problem
I'm using a Kodi build I did.
I think it might be the additional MVC code added to Kodi because if I remove the right eye first marker in the MKV it works (After just manually activating switch eyes in the GUI).

Re: 3D is broken on the 1.15.2
Same for me with Kodi. The MVC codec does not get used with rips from 1.15.2, they just use the standard H264 codec and show in 2D.

3D BD - Right Eye First Possible Problem
This is not specific to V1.15.2 and is in addition to the general 3D problem with 1.15.2 I reported earlier. In my setup all right eye first 3D rips detect as 3D and activate but seem to playback with no 3D effect at all. I cant tell if this is MakeMKV or the software player/driver but please could ...

3D BD - Broken with 1.15.2
Any of my 3D BDs ripped with 1.15.2 don't seem to detect as 3D at all in Kodi (Kodi applies the normal H264 codec not the MVC codec). I'm guessing this was a regression from the rewrite. Can anyone confirm or help resolve this?

Re: HDDVD Rip DD+ Compatibility Issues
"A DD+ stream is a collection of fixed-length syncframe packets, each of which corresponds to either 256, 512, 768, or 1536 consecutive time-domain audio samples. (The 1536-sample case is the most common case, and corresponds to Dolby Digital; the shorter subframe lengths are intended for use i...

Re: HDDVD Rip DD+ Compatibility Issues
It seems the issue with the HDDVD files produced by MakeMKV is they are using an unusually high audio frame rate. At this point I don't know if this is outside of Dolby spec or not. One Receiver I tried could play the 62.5FPS stream but not the 187.5FPS stream. Here are my results: HDDVD: Liar Liar ...

HDDVD Rip DD+ Compatibility Issues
Has anyone else experienced issues with DD+ bit-streaming of HDDVD MKVs with DD+ having problems? A Denon and a Marantz I tried will play them but three other brands wont. All of the receivers play DD+ ripped from Bluray correctly and can also play Stereo DD+ tacks from HDDVD but 5.1 DD+ tracks from...
