Re: Does the Amd Ryzen processor play 4K UHD?
As mentioned, your build is more than fast enough to handle the actual decode/playback part. It's just DRM that's an issue. Official 4K UHD Blu-ray playback requires Intel CPU (minimum Kaby Lake, I think?) because official playback software requires certain Intel only CPU extensions (SGX). However, ...

Re: Extracting both movies from a 2-in-1
What's CEE?
Also, are you sure the UHD contains both theatrical and extended cut? Looking at the way it was authored, there's only one giant 56.6GB m2ts file with no branching.
For discs with different cuts, you'd usually see the m2ts divided into multiple segments.

Re: Generate MKB20 dump
Note, if I wasn't clear enough, for step #1, you need to use the actual disc in order to generate a valid discatt.dat.
Also, I believe there are a lot of different disc versions of John Wick so you're gonna need to create an ISO for the same disc that you extracted the discatt.dat from.

Re: Stutter on some 4K rips using Apple TV/Infuse
Does the 4K MKV file play fine when played locally (e.g. internal or USB HDD) on a PC? How is the AppleTV 4K and the server/NAS where the content is stored connected to the network? At bitrates of 100+ Mbps, wi-fi's not always reliable for me (TP-LINK Archer C7 AC1750). For devices that will stay in...

Re: Help a newbie, UHD friendly drive, some questions
Last questions, because I never used a program like makemkv. 1. Will I only be able to rip into a .mkv file (with makemkv)? 2. Is it possible to rip into .iso or just a 1to1 copy of the files on the UHD disc via makemkv? 3. If .iso / files copy isn´t possible, will I be able to copy those files jus...

Re: Backup Copy of Movie Contains Unwanted Naration
In general, the highest quality tracks are the main audio tracks (DTS-HD, TrueHD, Atmos). Regular 5.1ch or stereo DTS and AC3 are more likely to be descriptive audio tracks or commentaries. Personally, I backup to ISO or BDMV folder first so I can easily preview the playlists/streams before extracti...

Re: Generate MKB20 dump
Was the drive running in LibreDrive mode when you did the ddrescue? If yes, you might try the ff: Create a partial encrypted folder backup in MakeMKV (you can stop it after it starts copying files). Extract the ddrescue image to a folder on your HDD. Copy discatt.dat from the encrypted folder backup...

Got the Best Buy steelbook and Target digipak. Tested the discs and all of them were fine. Reckon Amazon just got a bad batch.

Re: Manufacturing Defects as Protection?
Avengers Endgame UHD. Fails in exactly the same spot every time. Disc looks good. Please don't say I have a bad drive or make excuses for MakeMKV. It's just not working like other UHDs. Simple way to check, try ripping to ISO using ImgBurn or something. Or heck, just copy ‘/BDMV/STREAM/00055.m2ts’ ...

Re: Manufacturing Defects as Protection?
Nope, the movies in question are Avengers End Game, Captain Marvel, and Thor Ragnorok. All 3 purchased in-store from best buy. None of them are steal book editions though. I've been able to rip all three of those movies with MakeMKV (WH14NS40 with NS60 1.00 firmware). Captain Marvel and Thor: Ragna...

Re: The Matrix
I tried it again last night, and for some reason, it worked. Why would that be? I used the forum search and felt like I was drowning in a sea of answers. Sometimes one needs a little help. I appreciate the assistance. New disc, not yet supported until someone emails Mike the AACS dump so he can ext...

In View - Preferences - General, do you have "Allow contacting web server for updates" enabled? Also, any possible internet connectivity issues that might prevent MakeMKV from downloading the latest keys (firewall, proxy, etc)?

This is the first UHD it couldn't handle. Is there anything I can do?
