Re: Can't get Ver 1.60 to work
It has always been my practice to install new versions to its own directory. Just in case the new version didn't work. Ver 1.6 was installed in MAKEMKV160. 1.58 was still in Directory MAKEMKV158 when I first tried 160. I tried various BRs and DVDs without any success. Finally, I removed 158 and 160....

Re: Can't get Ver 1.60 to work
My operating sys is XP Home edition service pack 3
As I mentioned previously, I tried a variety of my disks. The failure usually happens
prior to the selection screen that lets you select the specifics for ripping.

Can't get Ver 1.60 to work
Have been using successive versions of MakeMKV without any problems. However, can't get 1.6 to work with anything. Doesn't even get to the second screen without going to fatal error. Tried it with DVD's BRs and stuff on my hard disk. Nothing works. Deleted and reinstalled 1.6 three times without any...

Re: How really fast does it convert?
@ Mike
No. but with earlier versions.
My computer is an old 1.6 P4 so I never know what to make of faster or slower
with anything. I'm sure if I had a newer computer all versions would have ripped
at the faster speed.

Re: How really fast does it convert?
That has been something that's been on my mind for quite awhile. My computer is an old rattle box so I don't expect much from it except it always works and it is not prone to any problems. My BR rom is rated at 3.5x. Using MakeMKV most all BRs rip at about 2.0x to 2.4x. However, if I use Fab Passkey...

Re: Price MakeMKV too high
Let me jump back in here for just a minute. I think it could be cheaper but than again, I don't think it's overpriced. Especially since it's still in beta and so much thought and effort has gone into the program and the improvements. Re: the size of the Makemkv staff all I would like to say is that ...

Re: Can I rip a BlueRay DVD with a non BlueRay device?
Just a short note to add to setarips comment. The minimum you would need would be a Bluray ROM device which reads but does not write to Bluray disks. With such a device you would ,using MakeMKV, be able to copy a Bluray disk to your hard disk and play it from your computer or use a streaming device ...

Re: Feature Request - Open/Edit a MKV
As I don't reduce down the video size of any of my movies, I have avoided the do-all programs because they always force you to reduce the video. Eac3to uses the same programs as I was using without the eac package. Now that I have had success with all the VC1 videos I have tried using TSmuxer for th...

Re: Feature Request - Open/Edit a MKV
@ MilesAhead Sorry, I mis-spoke. My WD does not play PGS. However, both my Seagate players do if they are in a ts or m2ts file. They do not play them in a MKV however. I still wonder why they don't. The player people blame the MKV software. The software people blame the players. I know that VLC now ...

Re: Feature Request - Open/Edit a MKV
So, after having written the above, I go over to VideoHelp.com and notice that MKVCleaver has introduced a new version today.
Maybe, It might provide all the fixes I need. One can hope.

Re: Feature Request - Open/Edit a MKV
@ setarip_old I agree with you completely about the PGS subtitles. However,It's a problem that really may not be fixed in Media players for quite a while. MilesAhead mentioned his WD and TS and M2ts files playing PGS. Mine does also but the problem with ts files is that with them you loose chapter s...

Re: Feature Request - Open/Edit a MKV
Aside from my previous remarks re: some problems with the MKVToolNix GUis, I think it might be useful to mention that MakeMkv creates MKV files that usually need further massaging. The PGS sub is not something that works with most players. So in most cases, I just leave it in and just mux it out eno...

Re: Feature Request - Open/Edit a MKV
I would like to add my comments to this question. Yes, Mkvtoolnix does mux and de-mux MKVs. However, their de-muxing and remuxing gui's really need some work done on them. For de-muxing MKVCleaver works great but the gui included with MKVToolNix has always been iffy and the only remuxing gui for MKV...

Re: Seagate Free Agent+ Not playing files
It might also be a problem with the FAT+. I've had some minor problems with mine on occasion. This device is more sensitive to audio and subs than my WD. MKVs made with makeMKV that play fine on my WD might loose sound near the end of a movie if subtitles are also selected. You might need to upgrade...
