Re: Ability to discard chapter marks?
I want to remove the chapter marks themselves, not data by these marks. Chapter marks are often extremely arbitrary and unnecessary additions to commercial DVDs, especially for 30 minute television episodes. I don't see them as being part of the original presentation. I'd rather not have to add anot...

Re: Delay or no delay?
So then what's the explanation for why a MakeMKV-built file reports video delay in MediaInfo and a mkvtoolnix-built file doesn't? The reports should be identical because the data being handled is the same. If indeed the playback is identical, then there's still the issue of one these file's spitting...

Re: Delay or no delay?
I can't really discern any appreciable playback difference in this case, but it could produce more noticeable problems in other discs. I don't have thousands of discs to test with, so it might be worth a proactive fix (if indeed it is a bug). Another strange difference that seems somewhat cosmetic o...

Delay or no delay?
I've been ripping a lot of my DVDs to my HD and am trying to get as archival quality as possible. Yesterday, I noticed something odd being reported by mediainfo on files made by MakeMKV on my Batman TAS discs. This is what the audio section looks like: Audio ID : 2 Format : AC-3 Format/Info : Audio ...

Ability to discard chapter marks?
This might be a feature request of sorts. I would like to see an checkable entry for "Chapter Marks" under titles in the same vein as audio streams and subtitles, so that you can discard them. Is this possible? Thanks.

Re: Problems ripping interlaced DVD material
With some more testing, I think I've determined that the problem may lie with my registered MPEG2 decoder (DScaler5). Ripping with subtitles throws it off, but if I discard subtitles, it works fine.

Re: Problems ripping interlaced DVD material
I've used 3 different players on my Windows 7 box. You're right about VLC Player needing it turned on by hand. Here are my experiences with all 3. VLC Player 1.0.5 ------------------- DVD: interlaced by default, but can be deinterlaced through setting MakeMKV file: interlaced by default, but can be ...

Re: Problems ripping interlaced DVD material
By the way, the DVD I am using is an original USA Red Dwarf disc. Here are two more images, my own this time. The first is a MakeMKV-generated file and the second is an mpg file extracted from that one by mkvextract. I don't know what mkvextract is changing during this process to make playback comb-...

Problems ripping interlaced DVD material
If you rip DVD video data that is interlaced, it will create a video that will playback with a "combing" defect during heavy movement. Example: http://pic1.raidpic.com/an0GiU8PW8.jpg Playing the DVD directly in the same media player, or playing a rebuilt file by using mkvtoolnix, results i...
