Re: SDFtool Flasher

I downloaded the sdftool flasher for my PC to try and use it for my Blu-Ray player, but when I open the tool, the box opens like this and I can't resize it to use it I have a Windows 11 PC. Cough NOTE: If the GUI looks a bit deformed (happens on a 4k monitor), you can right click the exe and select...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2025

I have been trying to find an Asus BW-16D1HT to flash for about 2 months. They used to be $99, then went up to $129, then several hundred dollars, and now for the past month there is absolutely none to be had anywhere. Can anyone confirm or deny if these have been discontinued? If not, is there any...

Now. If you are on Linux go back to a 17.x version of Makemkv since 18.x versions don't work OK:
18.x works fine for me, I've never had the issues most other people have as I build it from source... its the enclosure.

Post your Makemkv info. I guess it's not flashed successfully.
I already did, as I said the drive itself works in the old enclosure. Its just the new enclosure that's the issue. Maybe mike can bypass the restriction in a future version of makemkv if that is the root issue.

Your decision. A SATA>USB adapter will work. But that's cumbersome.
I did notice that it never says Using libredrive mode when trying to start a rip so I have to assume that thats the issue, it wont even use libredrive mode on dvd's or blurays either...

Re: PSA: New Archgon UHD drives do not allow flashing

Post the Makemkv info. Make sure it's a MT1959 drive. You know that you have to switch enclosures for flashing? I already swapped and flashed it do bu40n 1.00 as Im running linux, my other bu40ns work perfectly fine... well one is dying which is I grabbed the new archgon. Drive Information OS devic...

Re: PSA: New Archgon UHD drives do not allow flashing

I guess it's a power problem. Use a powered USB hub. Your ports don't seem to provide enough power and these enclosures might be not be power efficient. We have seen that with the Verbatim enclosures. The port works fine with the old archgon, the old vantec, but not the new archgon... we already kn...

Re: PSA: New Archgon UHD drives do not allow flashing

I was able to get it flashed with a third party enclosure. However when it was reassembled I found that even though MakeMKV was able to see it as patched. When it tried to rip a UHD of a known good disc it would say aacs unknown and create a dump of the disc. Not sure if the chip has something to d...

Re: Archgon MD-8107-U3 absolutely not flashable - New Revision?

The Enclosure is currently unable to be flashed from, but if you want to, you can remove the drive from the enclosure (screws under back two pads) and place it in the old drives one and flash it from there, I just did that on one I just got and it works nicely. I appreciate the usb c port so much mo...

Re: Can't detect a disk's second layer except in a real player

If they are legit, it could be disc rot. I ripped my SG1 collection a few years back but apparently a lot of dvds produced between 2006 - 2009 from Warner have issues.
SG1 is included in the list here.

Re: Linux-Version not on Download

I just manually changed the .1 to .2 on the download link and got it to download, haven't had the chance to compile it yet... or check and see if I need to update the ffabi.c file still for ffmpeg...

Quick edit, compiles fine with the newest version of ffmpeg yay.

Re: BU40N poor performance

I've been using a bu40n in a vantec enclosure for years now... its loud and likes to move around alot but anytime it starts to have trouble reading discs I just clean the lens off with a microfibre cloth and its back to running great... the lens on this thing loves to pick up dust I guess but as its...
