Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
whats the reason to go for each profile? what is the best to take with mp4muxer? i'm using now profile 7 on my LG C9. Whatever works on your device. But seriously—just keep it simple. You'll drive yourself crazy looking for the best profile, audio codec, stream container, etc. etc. The only thing t...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
So after 10+ hours of agonizing labor, Jumanji did not work through any method in mkv form or m2ts form. I will begrudgingly watch it in HDR10.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Why not use LG's native player (via DLNA)? My ancient LG BH4120s plays .ts files so I'd think the current TVs would as well.Angryunibrow wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2020 1:26 amI use a shield, but the Plex app on LG TV's will not play a .ts DV file. So mkv would help others

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
technically yes, but mkvtoolnix needs to add the proper dv descriptors first similar to what tsmuxer has done. right now it makes an mkv fine but loses the dv data in process. This is basically just what mp4muxer does (for an mp4), that's why the actual .exe is so small. No Atmos in .mp4 so a profi...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Forgive me if this has already been mentioned, but if profile 5 is single layer, then wouldn't it work in MKV format without any modifications? As far as I have read the only thing preventing DV in MKV is the lack of handling multiple layers. MKV is a lot for convenient for use over TS. technically...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
ah...I see, so these mkv remuxes that still have both bl and el tracks intact are scene releases  uhd disc -> dvdfab bdmv folder -> mkvtoolnix mkv remux oh yea i get that now, i was just referring to that youtube video posted earlier that showed off the other source . not judging, i’ve d...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Ok, I've run into a snag with @yusesope's tool and mp4muxer. The BL_EL_RPU hevc is generated, but when I put it into mp4muxer, it does nothing. It just hangs there, the output file is 0 bytes. I'm not sure what @yusesope made his samples from, I'm assuming the Blu-ray .m2ts. But I decided to try out...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
ah...I see, so these mkv remuxes that still have both bl and el tracks intact are scene releases  Shhh.... @tr000, if your tv only supports profile 5, i would suggest merging the bl and el tracks into a single track single layer file using yusecope’s tool in mode 2. then mix the resulting hev...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I just followed the exact steps stated in the original post, except instead of .m2ts file I use .mkv remux. Oh and 1 more thing: I don't include the ac3 audio in the demuxing, just the 2 video layers, but I'm not sure if that matters. must be down to my TV then. I have a TCL. Here are my steps in c...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I'll look into modifying your tool, perhaps to use TSMuxer. So far I've just changed it from profile 7 to profile 5, but I have a couple improvements I could make. Will post it when I get around to it. sure, change it however you wish :) let me know if you need to make an srt subtitle along side th...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Hey Grencola, I use your tool very frequently as well, thanks for all your work on it. cheers, you're welcome! However, there have been times where the tool has produced errors where manual demuxing with TSMuxer and putting it through MP4muxer has worked. For example, with 1917, the tool kept putti...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Has anyone had success creating a DV MP4 from a remuxed .mkv? I demux the video streams and AC3 audio from the .mkv, put it through mp4muxer, and it runs fine. However, on my TV, it's just a black screen. The raw .m2ts, however, will work fine. Any ideas? I finally realized that with my TV (Vizio P...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I make DV MP4 from remuxed .mkv all the time and it works fine on my c9. I no longer use the .m2ts structure because for some films the main video is split into multiple files. Could you walk me through your process? Perhaps I'm coming at it wrong. I just followed the exact steps stated in the orig...
