Re: The Homesman

The movie is very choppy anyway so it was hard to be sure...until I watched on my XBOX ONE. Definitely 393

Rip over network causes errors in mkv file.

I have finally found the answer to the problem of corrupt mkv files that are ripped directly from my PC to my Windows Home Server. Errors show up as audio sync issues, Mediainfo can't read them and the picture is sometimes jumpy. All caused by ripping over the network with makemkv. Rip the file loca...

Re: Audio Sync problems

I now have proof that the mkv's are corrupted whne made from makemkv. It seems that they nearly always get this way if you rip across a network to my Windows Home Server. Ripping locally and then copying helps but takes twice as long. All files that mediainfo can't read have the error line (Track in...

Re: Audio Sync problems

I think I might be getting to the bottom of my issue. Not 100% sure yet but ripping dirrectly to a Windows Home Server is causing the mkv header to get corrupted. This then causes other issues. I started noticing that some mkvs would not be read by mediainfo and that these were the ones ripped acros...

Re: Audio Sync problems

@reded2323 You stated, "Just for referance I use shark007 codec pack" - and the post at link I gave you indicates that the same codec pack proved to be the source of the member's problem. When the "shark007" codec pack was removed, the problem disappeared... Whilst I no dou't th...

Re: Audio Sync problems

Well heres what I do with MKV with sync issues like this. 1. Get your self a copy of TSmuxerGUI 2. Load in your MKV in to TSmuxerGUI and convert it to a TS or M2TS. 3. Now try to to play the file does it still have the same issue ? But in the end i hate to say it, but it does come down to a codec i...

Re: Audio Sync problems

Blurays with VC-1 ripped with makemkv will only playback using the MPC-HC codec. I'm sorry but your blanket statement is incorrect. Perhaps YOUR system is limited to processing VC-1 BluRays only with the "MPC-HC" codec. I did the following on a Vista 64bit system: I have just recently use...

Re: Audio Sync problems

So after much trial and error, I have tacked this down to a problem related to codecs after all. Not sure it is a codec problem itself as blurays (VC-1) ripped using tsmuxer and mkvmergeGUI all work fine with all codecs. Blurays with VC-1 ripped with makemkv will only playback using the MPC-HC code...

Re: Audio Sync problems

As I said previously, files passed through mkvmerge work fine. Either muxing them directly from tsmuxer or taking an mkv made with makemkv (out of sync) and re muxing. Both ways are in sync. I love your software so anything I can do to help..... This does not seem to be entirely accurate. I used ma...

Can anybody test it out, as I don't know how to go about compiling XBMC.
I'm sorry, I don't think this is the issue. I don't use xbmc either.

Re: Audio Sync problems

Another clue maybe. The amount out of sync varies. You can go to a point in the movie and it be a second out and then click somewhere else and it be only a few frames out. Go back to the original point and its nearly in sync again.

Re: Audio Sync problems

After testing a few more Blurays it definately only happens with VC1 disks. All other disks work great. Note: this is not a player or codec issue as the same disks converted to mkv's using TSmuxer and then mkvmerge work fine. I'm using the latest version of makemkv and now its saying in 30 days I ha...
