Re: Avengers 4 endgame
Yea, I have a script that I use that enables LibreDrive mode for the drive and then uses ImgBurn to create a protected ISO. Same idea. Just open the ISO with MakeMKV to check if it's supported periodically. Good stuff - this is the first time in my admittedly limited exposure to extracting from phy...

Re: Avengers 4 endgame
Not sure if it helps but I was able to backup the retail copy just fine (US). Maybe the key has already been updated. BD-RE Asus BW-16D1HT drive that is recommended here and purchased the disk from Best Buy. Another FYI for anyone new to this, you'll always be able to do a full disc backup, even if...

Re: Avengers 4 endgame
Remember that they don't just manufacture these discs with a single volume key, many of them are in play. That's what it'll work for some people and not others -- it's just luck of the draw if you managed to get a disc with the same key as someone else who submitted their dump before you. Noted - t...

Re: Avengers 4 endgame
Dump sent as well - Cinematic Universe Edition That is what I had and it picked it up just fine. 58GB with only US sub titles and audio checked. UHD official or friendly drive? "Volume key is unknown for this disc" for me with BW-16D1HT drive. EDIT: I see that you used the same drive, jus...

Re: BU40N - Which firmware is best?
Just to follow up here, I did flash 1.03mk to compare to 1.00 - for the Archgon MD-8107-U3, I did still see some periods of inactivity in re-ripping a previously-ripped MKV. It seemed as though the profile of the drive was faster under 1.03mk, though, as there where really only two significant spin-...

Re: BU40N - Which firmware is best?
Maybe use a stop watch to actually time how long a rip takes? I would say the drive spends far more time spun down than active, in watching a rip in action - this is what is pushing me in the direction of trying the MK version of 1.03, provided that it would be simple enough to get back to 1.00 in ...

Re: BU40N - Which firmware is best?
I should have qualified my original post by indicating that these spin-downs can last several minutes prior to resuming the rip. That's ok. It happens but they eventually pick up speed again. Indeed - the drive always seems to resume on 1.00 (eventually). Just seems to randomly stall many times dur...

Re: BU40N - Which firmware is best?
Stick with 1.00. It works really well! Just started using this external UHD drive - I can get through UHD discs just fine; however, I have noticed that there are spin down pauses at times during the process where the drive seems to go dormant, only to start back up seemingly at random. As noted, th...
