Re: SDFtool Flasher
Hello! Which firmware would be better for me to use? My model is Buffalo BRUHD-PU3-BK. Here are the Buffalo firmware options I found: DE_Buffalo_BRUHD-PU3_BN12-MK.bin DE_Buffalo_BRUHD-PU3_BU10.bin DE_Buffalo_BRUHD-PU3_BU12-MK.bin Are the following two firmware options also compatible with my model?...

Re: Verbatim 43888 with LG drive?
Hello I am in the UK and have just bought this drive from Amazon UK and it has come with the Pioneer drive which is all good. However, I am not convinced that the device is brand new. I watched an unboxing video from 2 years ago and it showed that the box was sealed (mine wasn't) and that the USB c...

Re: Verbatim 43888 with LG drive?
Yes the Pioneers are slower. One bad issue is that LG has the "jamless play" feature. The LGs just skip hard ro read sectors. Pioneers don't and LGs flashed to ASUS don't do as well. And the Pioneers are the better readers for hard to read discs. And they are far better burners. The Verba...

Re: Verbatim 43888 with LG drive?
Good for you. But they seem to switch to LG drives, Bad but the BU40N is at least the best LG drive. The whole reason I bought it was to add a Pioneer to my ripping capability so I would not have been happy if they had sent my an LG version. Interestingly, the Verbatim is slower than my desktop LG ...

Re: Verbatim 43888 with LG drive?
Hi Seoska- I got the same Verbatim LG Drive from Amazon as yours (and it is not supported by MakeMKV) too. I bought the Verbatim 43888 UHD Drive from Amazon AU (Model Code: KIAA, P/N: 43888), but the order was fulfilled by Amazon Germany. I am unfamiliar with firmware flashing. May I know how do yo...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2024
Is it currently safe to buy a Verbatim 43888 4K slim drive, given it contains a Pioneer drive? for now yes Great thanks. That's a good option for me for cost and for the fact that I don't have any spare 5.25" bays so it can sit on top of my tower and I can run mutiple rips as well as use it fo...

Re: SDFtool Flasher
The original firmware is encrypted so you need to use the "enc" syntax if using the command line. SDFtool flasher should automatically detect it though. If it isn't make sure the "enc" box is ticked.

Re: SDFtool Flasher
You are talking about two different firmware versions.
The guide says to wh16ns60 1.02mk and you said you were trying to flash wh16ns40-ns50_1.02.bin, which is not the same firmware.

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2023
Of course there is! Verbatim 43888 (contains a Pioneer BDR-UD04) - Official UHD drive, no flashing required. LG BU40N - Official UHD drive, flashing required. LG BP60NB10 - Official UHD drive, fashing required. It's a shame that these are all slimline so would need to go in an enclosure to be mount...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2023
So, from what I'm reading here, by skipping through 20 pages at a time, is that there's basically no new drives that are UHD Official and work for ripping? Man, that's a bummer. Of course there is! Verbatim 43888 (contains a Pioneer BDR-UD04) - Official UHD drive, no flashing required. LG BU40N - O...
