Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2025
To Billy et al. I inherited my brother’s 500 disk 4K blu-ray collection (and only 4K) but I am a digital guy with NAS. Enter MakeMKV and a drive. Been reading many posts on this forum. I have studied this post and others. It appears Pioneer is the most reliable/best/recommended drive. From what I r...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2025
Good afternoon, I bought a BP50NB40 running version 1.00, see screenshot https://i.imgur.com/gcF4EhM.png . I was told that this should be able to rip 4Ks without the need for flashing. However, when i insert a 4k, MakeMKV doesn't recognize the disc and simply states that there are no disc. Does tha...

Re: SDFtool Flasher
So here I was, finally get into 4k UHD. So, got me an LG BH16NS55 (v1.05) with an ICY BoX 5,25" enclosure and looked up the info on here at MakeMKV. Grabbed the latest version of the utility and popped in a REGULAR BluRay. (Yes, I knew that if I'd flash the drive it would get rid of the sleepi...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2025
Where are the instructions for flashing new firmware Pioneer drives? Okay, my mistake :) Seriously, I didn't need to flash my external Pioneer drive to copy blu-ray movies, so I won't provide instructions. Besides, I was afraid that I would damage the drive. BTW. I don't know if I can give the name...

Re: Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 2 and 3
I'm ripping these two seasons as I type and the same issue is still present.
I should be able to use MKVToolNix to split the files down but, if the individual episodes are on the discs, why isn't MakeMKV finding them?

Re: "Fake playlist" protection - help needed
Maybe in a future version makemvk will add a "John Wick" button that will wipe out all check marks in a single punch. Really just an uncheck all button. I just ripped John Wick BR and unchecked all 300+ copies except the first one and it seems to have worked fine. I was able to get the wh...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2025
Based on our experience, the Verbatim drive hasn't been the most reliable, with about a 5% failure rate. We wouldn’t recommend this model. For a dependable option, any of the retail Pioneer drives would be a great choice. The Pioneer BDR-XD07TB/S, in particular, will work perfectly for your needs. ...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2025
He said "record" not "rip", unless he meant "rip". i didnt say rip but yeah that drive will not see a UHD disc at all unless you buy it from me marty or asmcom and the drive info will not look like that at all its not an official UHD drive so it does not see those disc...

It isn't very useful since it will depend on whether you rip all the audio tracks or not.kevingroover wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2025 2:05 amwould you be open to adding files sizes for 4k uhd rips?

Re: Read SACD
Aside from an old PS3, there is a way with a number of retail BD/UHD players (that also play SACD) using a script on a USB drive and controlling the device over a wired network. I have one of those players which I could try, assuming I can get the drive tray to open again. It gave up opening years a...
