Re: Pioneer BDR-XS07TUHD drive...any other place to get?

Thanks so much, Marty, Coopervid n dcoke22 for your prompt replies. Much appreciated!!
I think I bought a drive from Marty back in 2019 but I stopped this "hobby" for awhile.

So, back to being a noob again.

Re: Pioneer BDR-XS07TUHD drive...any other place to get?

Why not get the Verbatim 43888? It's an external slim drive containing a Pioneer BDR-UD04 inside. Connects via USB-A or USB-C. What's the diff between the V43888 and the Archgon? Is the latest firmware on the Archgon flashable? The Archgon contains a LG BU40N inside. Yes, they are flashable. The Ve...

Re: Pioneer BDR-XS07TUHD drive...any other place to get?

Due to space constraints in my new place, I m using a nuc PC. If I decide on a tray drive then I have to get another enclosure to connect to the nuc. Why not get the Verbatim 43888? In MakeMKV? If not, I'm afraid I misunderstood the question. Sorry.

In AnyDVD, the option would be 'Rip Video Disc to Harddisk...'.
Oh, you are right....I misunderstood your reply.
Yes, I was able to copy the disc to my NAS using MakeMKV backup option.

Thank you, d00zah!

Re: another noob question....

So far using anydvdhd to rip to iso seems to work for me and makemkv is pretty straightforward. Is there anyway to rip UHD disc to BDMV folders or its just a copy and paste thingy? File > Backup Thanks. I dont see a Backup option under File but there is a "Burn to disc" option though

Re: UHD drives

Installed the ASUS BW-16D1HT into the Vantec enclosure today and confirmed drive was using 3.03 fw. flashed the fw to 3.02 and it was successfully converted to a friendly drive within 10 seconds! Installed the evaluation copy of AnyDvdHD and ripping Hacksaw Ridge UHD to iso now...... Next, I will us...

Mine is a 90DD0200-B20000

Re: UHD drives

Ok you have every right to bash me and for asking silly and oft repeated questions... For Asus D1HT with 3.02 friendly fw : Makemkv and Anydvd support Can burn? Any sleep bug issue? For LGNS60 with friendly fw 1.0: Makemkv and Anydvd support Can burn? Any sleep bug issue Is my understanding correct?...

Re: UHD drives

Thanks MM
I already have the Asus which I plan to downgrade to 3.02

I was thinking of getting the official NS60 but since it can't be used with AnydvdHD without downgrading the fw then I have to shelve it
