Re: VLC Player Suddenly Quits MKV Playback (MakeMKV)
Problem solved or at least isolated! In desperation, tried ripping a movie that freezes/quits on different computer (MacBook instead of normal iMac) and it plays perfectly. Running Sonoma with latest same version on both computers, so something corrupt on iMac or HDD attached

VLC Player Suddenly Quits MKV Playback (MakeMKV)
VLC player quits 3-4 minutes after playback starts, Same with Zidoo. Latest VLC version. Identical problem playing movie w/VLC directly from my Mac. Dune player doesn’t quit, instead freezing for a second and then skipping ahead about 3 minutes after each freeze. Changed to a spare ASUS drive & ...

Re: "automatic sdf downloading is disabled or failed" while decrypting
Based on an earlier suggestion, I tried using my iPhone Personal Hotspot temporarily and this worked without any DNS gymnastics.

Re: Ripping Dolby Atmos into MKV
This thread has been quiet since late March so I wonder if the problem was resolved and I missed the solution? I still have audio dropouts playing MKV's with Atmos audio, both on my Oppo 203 and Zidoo z9s. The original disk plays with no problem on the Oppo. I always rip multiple audio formats, so I...

Re: Firmware downgrade using official (patched) flasher, the "Ultra hax0r guide"
Thanks, but I can't find anything in the links provided that deal with my specific question, (or I am too ignorant to recognize them). I already downgraded my LG WH16NS60 to FW 1.00, but I want to try MK in hopes of improving 3 layer rip results. Can I simply flash the appropriate MK file, or do I f...

Re: Firmware downgrade using official (patched) flasher, the "Ultra hax0r guide"
My 2017 Asus BW-16D1HT successfully ripped about 70 UHD disks since last year, but the triple-layered UHD Black Hawk Down wouldn’t rip, saying drive or disk was bad. I had read that my drive had issues with triple layers, so I bought a new LG WH16NS60 and downgraded it to FW 1.00 using Billy’s video...
