Re: Preview, please!
Load your BR disc, under "File" choose "Backup" and tick decrypt when the box opens. The .m2ts files will be in the STREAM folder. Try it! Unfortunately, I don't see how that helps me achieve what I want, because it's still forcing you to rip all the files from the disc first. T...

Re: Preview, please!
It's weird, but whenever anyone suggests being able to preview titles using VLC, the replies never seem to understand why anybody would want to do that and they basically boil down to "why don't you just rip everything and delete what you don't want?" Because it's so time-consuming, that's...

Re: Why is there no option to preview any given title before you rip it?
How do you create a "decrypted backup"? To my mind, that sounds like you have to wait while the entire disc rips. That's exactly what I'm trying to avoid, it's so time-consuming, especially when I know I'm going to be deleting 90% of what's been ripped. I'm never ripping films, I'm ripping...

Why is there no option to preview any given title before you rip it?
Since VLC can use MakeMKV to provide the keys to play BDs, why can't MakeMKV use VLC to play any given title so the user can check if it's what they want before it's ripped? Users have been asking for a preview functionality for well over a decade now, and it's puzzling why something that seems rela...

Why is there no option to preview any given title before you rip it?
As far as I can tell, people have been asking for a video preview functionality within MakeMKV for well over 10 years, and yet there still isn't one. Is it actually difficult to implement? Given that MakeMKV can integrate with VLC to allow Blu-ray playback, is it a problem for MakeMKV to use VLC as ...

Re: How can I identify which Blu-ray titles I want to rip? VLC doesn't show m2ts or mpls info
I genuinely don't understand why it's so difficult to do.
If VLC can use MakeMKV to provide decryption to play BDs, why can't MakeMKV use VLC as a player so that users can preview and identify which file(s) they want to rip?

Re: How can I identify which Blu-ray titles I want to rip? VLC doesn't show m2ts or mpls info
I want to make MKV rips of *just* the specific supplemental features I need. I *don't* want to have to wait for an entire disc to be backed up when I only want a few titles from it. That precisely what I'm trying to avoid :) I want to be able to identify the exact titles I need and *only* rip those ...

Re: How can I identify which Blu-ray titles I want to rip? VLC doesn't show m2ts or mpls info
I want to rip specific titles from discs which have a main feature and *many* supplementary features. In every case I *don't* want the main feature, I just want particular supplementary features (but *not* all of them). Because MakeMKV will not let you preview what any given title actually is (I not...

Is there a working version of BDinfo for OSX?
Having been told of the existence of BDinfo as a way of identifying which titles I want to rip from a disc, I can't make it work, at least not under Catalina. The most recent version of the app I can find is 1.2, and while it runs, the BDMV file on any Blu-ray I try is always greyed-out so I can't s...

Doesn't seem to work.
The most recent version I can find is 1.2, and the BDMV file on any Blu-ray I try to open is greyed-out so I can't select it.
Is there anything more reliable for OSX?

How can I identify which Blu-ray titles I want to rip? VLC doesn't show m2ts or mpls info
I have many Blu-rays from which I only want to rip certain specific titles. How can I identify which .mpls or .m2ts files correspond to the titles I want? Obviously there's no way to preview a title in MakeMKV before you rip it. I thought that VLC might do the trick, but I can't find any way of gett...

Re: Feature Request: Preview Window in MakeMKV
Another vote for a preview window - it would be a huge time-saver when I often only want to rip a specific episode(s) from a disc.

Re: One DVD title is failing for no obvious reason
Hi Woodstock, I thought I'd try it in Isobuster in a different DVD drive on my Windows box, and while it will rip, the resultant file is unplayable. Isobuster reports the sectors as 35% unreadable, even though the playing surface looks perfect and all the other titles on the disc ripped without prob...

Re: DVD Drives Compatible with Mac?
There should be absolutely no issues whatsoever using *any* USB optical drive with a Mac since OSX 10.4.3. The days when you needed to install Mac drivers are long gone - all external DVD/BD drives conform to device class driver standards that are natively supported by both WIndows (since Vista) and...

One DVD title is failing for no obvious reason
I have the latest version of MakeMKV (1.14.4) and it keeps refusing to save title 02 from I'm Alan Partridge series 1, disc 1. The other five titles saved normally with no issues. The rip appears to proceed normally, with no strange noises or retries from the drive, but as soon as the progress bar h...
