Re: AACS12 & 14 Encryption
Interesting... I plugged the drive into my iMac (OSX 10.6.4), installed makemkv and am currently ripping Rock n Rolla. So - why would my Linux box suddenly start telling me the encryption was unknown, when with th esame drive and software I can rip the disc under OSX. The Linux box has never failed ...

Re: AACS12 & 14 Encryption
Same drive as always, same computer (Linux). No other services running at all. Original discs in the drive ripping to the local disc.
As mentioned - never had a problem with any disc before though Street Kings was the first BD+ disc I've ever tried to copy

AACS12 & 14 Encryption
Hi, I've submitted this through the application, but for completeness: Just tried to rip "Rock n Rolla" - MakeMkv reported that this was not possible due to AACSv12 encryption. The first disc ever to fail for me in MakeMKV! Only to then be followed by another failure, "Little New York...

New VLC builds now supporting PGS subtitles
I haven't seen other posts on this
FYI: it seems the latest nightly builds of VLC are now providing support for BlueRay PGS subtitles.
I've read that support is limited at the moment, but I've had chance to try with one movie ripped by MakeMKV, and it worked perfectly.

Re: Subtitles...
As you state, this is really an issue of the likes of VLC not supporting the BlueRay subtitle format yet. In the meantime there is a manual workaround:

Same issue, though it is not fatal.
I have noticed that makeMKV v1.4.12 seems to have introduced a number of error messages in the output, though none to date have been fatal. Are these perhaps debug messages?

Re: List of Blu-ray drives that work
Yes - it is working just fine. Have used on multiple mac's; ripped more DVD and BD+ protected movies, all without issue. Internally it is an Optiarc drive - same manufacturer as the standard DVD drive in my iMac - boxed with a USB - SATA bridge Drive Information: Manufacturer: Optiarc Product: BD RO...

SCSI Error - Read of Scrambled Sector without Authentication
Hello, Have encountered my first issue with MakeMKV after successfully ripping around 20 DVDs and Blue-Ray disks. Could anyone advise what could be the cause of the following? It occurs immediately upon startup of MakeMKV for a DVD that appears to play fine in DVD player. I haven't seen any other re...

Re: List of Blu-ray drives that work
Dear All This afternoon I received the low-cost drive from Fastmac - plugged it into my iMac and was able to rip my first Blueray movie without a hitch. Looks good so far Update: 3 rips - all 100% successful. Not fast with 2x read; takes about an hour per rip but I don't find that a major issue. Oh,...
