Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
How does the latest firmware mess up the DV black level? I read forums posts and thought only hdr10 still had problems. There's a glow, and when you use the new near black option to fix it, it crushes black but the avsforum is full of moron who use the vivid mode so it's hard to follow. On the old ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
@RESET9999 How do you like the G5 so far with the latest firmware update, compared to the C2 you own? I'm still on the old firmware, before they messed up the DV black levels, so everything looks fine on my end. I actually prefer it a lot over the C2, mainly for the better colors, but also for how ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
May be a dumb question, but I've done a fair amount of research and still don't 100% understand. In the Dolby Vision Stuff google sheet I see chart "ENCODER GROUPS TO AVOID BECAUSE THEY DONT ENCODE DV FEL PROPERLY" I have a AM6B+ so I can playback DV Profile 7. I wanted to confirm that I ...

What do you think about the Kodi app on android tv? I just installed the app on my Sony a95l and it seems to play all the Dolby Vision 4K remuxes smoothly. Might be a good option for those that can't get the Ugoos.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I don't see any obvious difference between hdr10 and DV on the Sony in terms of posterization. The Samsung is completely clean even with the 3 clips you mentioned? I talked to someone who had the new Samsung OLED TV but ended up returning it due to poor uniformity. He told me all the clips were com...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Yes I downloaded the original clips and watched them on my a95l via the ugoos. I did see mild banding/posterization mainly in those 3 clips. Hopefully lg can fix the g5 and their future oleds, but I doubt it. Well, my old C2 also has tons of banding/posterization in HDR10, so I guess LG indeed will...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
The Stranger Things, Liongates and Silo clips have slight banding/posterization in the source, but you should watch the original clips rather than the YouTube versions. https://drive.google.com/drive/u/1/folders/1DxMiJvf_HHTqxw5AW4WdbrKkCkKrH3JG The C2 and G5 show a lot of banding and posterization...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
@RESET9999 I'd like to ask about your latest video: https://youtu.be/GnVNJkiunJo?si=83R1Bs5SBwYEY8RV In terms of the posterization test, are the videos included low bit rate contents? Are tvs other than the LGs supposed to be completely free of posterization when playing those videos? Because yester...

Thanks. I used your rpu for this movie, too, but it was the earlier version and so the issue was not fixed. Should have waited for this one...RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 21, 2025 3:41 pmyes the original metadata has incorrect L5...

Could you check the movie "Bring Her Back" on your LG G5? On my Sony A95L, at the scene where the aspect ratio expands, the top and bottom of the screen become dimmer than the rest. I believe it's an L5 thing, but I've never seen that happen in a film before

@RESET9999 May I ask what HYBRID in the title actually means? I thought it meant this version already included DV cmv 4.0 from the web version but upon checking with dovi scripts it does not.
