Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

I don't know what's expensive or complicated about X700... $180 last I checked, just use the Tsmuxer from a Bluray rip structure. Of course it's not as straightforward with pirated MKVs, but still doable. There really 1. isn't that much FEL DV content 2. worth watching all of it. Just buy the few ti...

This Ugoos thing was too good to be true.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Anyone with the Ugoos have firewall/network data on the device phoning home? Not too fond of putting a Chinese device that connects remotely inside my home network. The company is also mainly Chinese and Russian oriented. No direct US sellers does say a lot. Device comes with latest Android 9 OS on ...

I'm planning to get x700. Do you know whether it can play DV with FEL in m2ts container? I have an old bdp s6700 which can play m2ts remuxes fine (although only 1080p).
I have been watching DV with FEL on my X700 in m2ts/ts via a tsMuxer mux from a full bluray rip for a while now.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Can you elaborate on this? Googling didnt really give me the answers. Thanks. - Open a UHD Bluray rip's main playlist file in tsMuxer. - Mux to .ts (or .m2ts). - Play the file via a network share or USB from your Sony X700 or your LG OLED. If you have an LG OLED <=2018 like me, no lossless audio wi...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

I still find the easiest, fastest, and least painful solution for Dolby Vision and lossless audio to be the X700 with a tsMuxer mix. If you have a newer model with eARC - kudos. And it plays UHD Blurays. I do give the shield gigabit ethernet and the MKV lossless TrueHD.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

I found the wifi on both my C8 and the "MIMO" 2.4GHz wifi on the X700 slower than 100Mbit ethernet. They stuttered more streaming from my Synology than the wired connection. This is from an enterprise grade access point <1m from the TV/X700. For the <5 titles I have watched in the past cou...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1

Over a year later and I still see tons of issues with DV playback on Shield and tons of hoops to get it to run. While the X700 still plays UHD rips and tsmuxer muxed to .TS, for less money. Any smart TV has plex/kodi/dlna apps... I just don't see the appeal for spending $200 on a device that require...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Don't take this the wrong way, but why, when he basically asked for the easiest possible method, did you post the convoluted method using yusecope's tool, when there is now a much easier method just using makemkv and tsmuxer (and eac3to if you want TrueHD)? Is there something I'm missing that makes...

Wow, so much activity recently. Great job on the progress.

As far as X700 goes, is there anything this new tool from yusesope adds over a tsMuxer remux?

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

.ts file with DV and TrueHD Atmos playing back on X700
Tested and works properly with PGS and fast forwarding. This is amazing. As far as I am concerned my DV needs are fully met.

Would sure love a 1-click wonder converting a UHD rip to MP4 with DV and 7.1 LPCM.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Has anyone else tried just ripping the main movie file (using MakeMKV or DVDFab 11) and playing that on the Sony x700? I've tried it on 2 UHD BluRays so far, and the x700 plays the movie file in both Dolby Vision *and* Atmos at the same time. Why bother to even convert to a different file container...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

who said anything about pirated movies?? A huge amount of people care about disc preservation where you watch it once or twice (or sometimes never even open it if it's a rare steelbook), and then just make a digital backup so you can view it to your hearts content without touching the physical copy...
