Ordered a Pioneer drive and it arrived quickly and working great!
I am confused though, the date on the drive sticker is June 2023; did they ship drives with old firmware or is there some sort of secret flashing method...

Re: Possible to downgrade Pioneer BDR-XS07UHD from 1.02 to 1.01?
Late reply, but you can enable force-downgrading on the official flashing tool by changing the byte at 0x9F89 in the EXE from 0x00 to 0x01. This allowed me to flash from 1.02 firmware back to 1.01. No idea if this works with "patched" firmwares from December 2022 onwards, my guess is that...

Re: LibDriveIO release date?
No one officially ever promised anyone that there would be some “release date” of that to the public from the MakeMKV side. If someone told you this or promised it to you then they have flat out lied to you or are trolling you. MakeMKV and all source code related to that software is owned by and is...

Hmm, I'm getting the same results. Doesn't match the documentation I found for sure.kurayamino wrote: ↑Mon Sep 21, 2020 5:27 amI don't see different AUN start/end values when I specify different layers in the CDB at offset 6. Super hacky POC code attached -- have I done something wrong?

Re: an offtopic question - physical data location on the disc
Is there any particular reason you can't just get the layerbreak LBA from the PIC (Permanent Information & Control data zone), and get the LBA+size of the file you are reading from the filesystem, and see if (lba_of_file <= lba_layerbreak && lba_of_file+size >= lba_layerbreak), and slow ...

Re: GD-ROM and libredrive
I did some testing via the standard 122-min TOC "trap disc" and my BW-16D1HT, and it looks like the drive cannot seek into the high-density area. Whether this is an issue with the seeking algorithm or just the drive not being calibrated to read the higher density data I'm not sure, but bei...

Re: GD-ROM and libredrive
So, theoretically, if LibreDrive would export a command for you, something like "update TOC in drive memory", do you think this will be enough? Another option (already available) is "read sector by physical address" command. Both of these can easily damage seek mechanism. I almo...

Re: Custom firmware pack with LibreDrive patches
Is it possible that you can modify this firmware to allow overreading into the lead-out of CDs? Currently these drives can only read the lead-in, but modifying them to read the lead-out also would be useful for Redump and DAE. I tried myself but I wasn't able to locate anything in the code. What re...

Re: Supplier of UltraHD Friendly+Official Drives, External USB Enclosures, Firmware Flashing (World Wide Service)
I'm looking to buy either a LG BH16NS55 or an ASUS BW-16D1HT. Do you have any recommendations on which one is better, or are the drives basically identical?
