I can't confirm or deny this atm but hope it gets fixed. I don't think I've ripped every one of my HD-DVDs yet...
Thanks for posting.

Re: Step-by-step guide for the best (IMHO) drive: LG WH16NS60
I agree and so your thread deserves a bump I think. My WH16NS60 is already "fixed", but AFAICT your steps are right on the money, good work.tragic bleak wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2019 8:30 pm...There is so much information in this forum, it can be daunting. Re: Heads up - Support for LG UHD drives
I looked and that firmware pack by mike admin does have BU50N in it. And the modified LG Flasher that may help is well-buried in the drive.google link in this post: https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=18873&hilit=hax0r#p70284 The flasher is (oddly) named this: BH14NS40_N1.00-A...

MakeMKV now prints a log message that implies it's looking for a libre drive when it encounters a drive with the old school firmware on it.So it's DE or MK firmware foe me! Which ...

Re: WH16NS40 old model bricked - N00b mistake :(
The only time I've seen one of these drives saved is through some very painful work... It must not have been here or you'd have linked to it? The OP already said he couldn't find the original firmware, and while I've heard of the dosflash tool, what is the "firmware mover tool" of which y...

Another satisfied customer here of Alex; got the "official" WH16NS60 with firmware 1.00 installed to the Vantec enclosure in the mail before I even thought to ask about it--talk about fast service! It's worked perfectly and I'm glad I trusted Alex to do the dirty work of assuring UHD goodn...
