Ok, I randomly stumbled across this in the forums:
--profile path_to_profile_xml_file
This would be helpful to add to makemkvcon --help

Re: HD audio tracks with makemkvcon
Thanks for your reply, Mike. I did do some research on my own before asking the question and found the information on track selection, but I'm still not quite sure how to make this happen. I can't find any default rules in preferences, mainly because I can't find any preferences for the commandline ...

HD audio tracks with makemkvcon
I'm using the commandline version of makemkv in linux. I'm not interested in switching to the GUI, but I've reached the point where I'd now like to be able to access the DTS-HD and TrueHD audio streams. The commandline version only seems to output the DTS and AC3 streams by default, even though I kn...

Re: Life of Pi
Ok, just in case anyone cares, I figured out the difference between Title 2 and Title 5. In Title 2, there are burned-in English subtitles around minute 13 (and possibly elsewhere in the movie) that are not present in Title 5. So if you rip the English version of the movie, you should use Title 2.

Re: Life of Pi
I"m sorry if this is an extremely noob question. I see only two possible options when I open the blu ray. Both have the same amount of chapters, file size, and duration. Only the “Source file name” and “Segment map” are different. Option #1 (Source file name: 00800.mpls) shows a segmen...

Re: List of BluRay with forced subtitles (version 2)
That google spreadsheet is terrific, but is it BluRay specific?
Also, how does one contribute or become a part of the group?
Thanks,
Nick

Here's another one:
2012 - Lots of forced subs. The latest makemkv splits these out as track #9.

Re: Evaluation version expired?
Yes, it's just the beta key. I don't use the GUI version of the program, so I can't really use the menu item to purchase the program. I will just wait for the official release to purchase it. Why wait? -> http://www.makemkv.com/buy/ Thanks for the link. If they want people to purchase the program, ...

Re: Evaluation version expired?
Okay, I figured it out. You need this in your ~/.MakeMKV/settings.conf file:

# MakeMKV settings file, written by MakeMKV v1.5.3 beta linux(x86-release)
#
app_Key = "T-mOHnvxAzRVgj8jGfDryg55hQcCQkFkt9J8GfgijeZZWLPhajBGzCuEu_vOLvDlVo_B"

Evaluation version expired?
I'm using makemkv 1.5.3 and I'm still getting a message that makemkv has expired. Here's the message (commandline version): MakeMKV v1.5.3 beta linux(x86-release) started Using direct disc access mode Evaluation period has expired, shreware functionality unavailable. Angels and Demons Iron Man District 9 Apocalypto Seven Pounds Don't Mess with the Zohan - very limited forced subs, essentially when ever he uses his spy goggles Gran Torino - The subs are not forced, but there's actually a separate track (track 6) with just the foreign language sections This is a c...

Re: List of BluRay with forced subtitles
I just ripped "Funny People" and I think we can remove it from the list. There are no forced subs. During the table scene when they are speaking mandarin, the English subs say "SPEAKING MANDARIN". Please try and only post if you've actually verified that there are forced subs. I ...

Re: List of BluRay with forced subtitles
I figured that was the case, but I thought I'd ask. They're fairly easy to extract and convert anyway, so it's not a big deal. Thanks to everyone so far for contributing to the list! It has saved me some frustration already and hopefully others have benefitted as well.
