Re: BDE-PR1EP what is it?
I did some digging and under the surface this looks like a BDE-PR1ME-L. A "Cost-effective business Blu-ray recorder, suitable for loading into automated equipment. CD Printer/Recorder, CD library." Sounds like a durable workhorse. The specs rate BD Read Single and Dual both at 12x. Too bad it can't ...

Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives
The SDF Tool said it had the wrong platform. I'll keep it as a pure BD player/writer. Oh well.

Yeah, the SDF Tool said it had the wrong platform. I'll keep it as a pure BD player/writer. BTW, I just extracted the BD of Inter****r. At 39gb it took 29 minutes, this thing flies!

BDE-PR1EP can it be done?
Sorry to crosspost this: I have an interesting drive out of a Epson disc publisher, a Pioneer BDE-PR1EP. I've converted a LG to UHD in the past with no issues but I'm unsure about the firmware for Pioneers. Can this model be converted? The info below is on a BD, a 4K just makes seeking noise in the ...

BDE-PR1EP what is it?
I picked up an interesting BD/DVD-RW drive out of a Epson disc publisher, a Pioneer BDE-PR1EP. The specs say: "These drives perform above the industry standard, offering extremely accurate publishing with an exceptionally low error rate." Its also said to have 'specific' firmware. The case is dated ...

Re: LG WH14NS40 share
My results from last night:
I found that my WH14NS40 had been updated to 1.05 in 2120? According to the data 1.05 was supposed to be encrypted, but the SDF Flasher showed differently. I used HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_WH16NS60-1.02-NM00100-211810291936.bin and it updated in 10 seconds. No problems and the ...

LG WH14NS40 share
I’ve used MakeMKV for years with an ancient Lite-On drive on my HTPC to extract BR and have had no issues with it. No 4K abilities of course.
I also have a pristine Xeon mid-tower I acquired a few years ago as a backup PC. For the first time I looked closely at the drive and realized it’s a LG ...

Re: Guardians of the Galaxy 1 in 4K - resolution errors
Solved it, the file was corrupt somehow. I ripped it to a mkv a 2nd time and resolution is correct. Probably should have tried this it before.

Re: Guardians of the Galaxy 1 in 4K - resolution errors
I just opened the mkv in Magix Vegas and it shows the same settings. I have the feeling that these settings are displaying incorrectly for some reason. I wonder if there's a way to change them at the file level without resaving it.

Guardians of the Galaxy 1 in 4K - resolution errors
I just extracted Guardians of the Galaxy 1 (4K) from disc. It went smoothly with no errors, the output was a 56gb mkv.

Re: How to rip BD from hardrive version?
Well...I just replaced my old Lite-On BD drive with a new LG WH14NS40. It blazed through reading the disc in 1/4 of the time without slowing and made a seamless mkv. Really surprised me.
So in my case at least the error shown at the top of the post was solved by using a new drive. Go figure.

Re: How to rip BD from hardrive version?
I'm not getting any hash errors despite it not being listed in the current keys_hashed file. Its Dances with Wolves theatrical version from the Steelbox edition...btw.
The error points to a bad disc because it keeps failing at the same spot. But...my BD drive is embarrasingly old. I just ordered a ...

How to rip BD from hardrive version?
When ripping a BD I ran into the attached error. Could be due to either the disk or my drive. So I decided to copy the entire disc to my hardrive and rip from there. I was able to copy all the BD contents over with no issues.
