Re: makemkvcon not processing the correct title ID

Are these DVD title numbers? MakeMkV uses its own numbering scheme. You'll have to load the disc in the GUI to see what the title number translates to.

Re: What Backend/Frontend Encoder Do You Use?

Just trying to get an idea what everyone out there is using for a backend/frontend encoder after you have ripped your movie to .mkv format. I use my own frontend tools (scripting engine and a GUI transcoder). For a backend, it uses HandBrake, ffmpeg, mkvmerge, whatever it needs to get the job done....

Re: MakeMkv and Undetermined Audio Language

Just checkin'. You say "HandBrake says they are..." English. Is that what 'mkvmerge' indicates, as well? If you have it installed, what does ' MediaInfo ' report? Wondering whether it's just a misinterpretation issue? Thanks for trying to help. No, HandBrake properly shows the titles on t...

Do you have an 'Advanced' > 'Default selection rule' set which includes 'nolang' ?
I have the rule set to "all," but that's not the problem. That determines what languages are selected by default. It doesn't change them.

Re: MakeMkv and Undetermined Audio Language

As a sanity check, I pulled out another disc that I know has undetermined audio on it. I get the same behavior. When extracting with MakeMKV, the language is set to English.

MakeMkv and Undetermined Audio Language

I don't think I'd seen this before, so I am wonder if it's new behavior. I have a DVD where all the audio and subtitle tracks have their language set to "undetermined." At least, that's what HandBrake says they are. MakeMKV doesn't list a language at all. When I extract the titles, the lan...

Re: How to force MakeMKV to copy duplicate files?

If it's the same set I have (US release), both titles are indeed equivalent and each contain the normal track and the commentary track.

Lost Functionality

MakeMKV use to be ability to access multiple videos packed into one title (a lot of special features are packed this way, especially on older discs). It use to list each video in sequence. Now it only lists the first. Has this functionality been removed? If so, it's a shame because MakeMKV is the on...

Re: Getting started with MakeMKVcon on Windows 10

If you're trying to call it with just the file name, sans path, it needs to be in your PATH env. var., regardless of where it lives (unless it happens to be in the current directory, of course).

Re: New DVD Open Modes

Thanks, Mike. I was just curious. I use makemkvcon a lot in my automated tools. I was going to update them to support this, if necessary. Oh, you can do anything imaginable with makemkvcon using this guy - https://www.makemkv.com/download/mmgui-1.16.5.tar.gz . But you have to write c++ code :) Oh, ...

Re: New DVD Open Modes

I just wondering if the new DVD open modes are accessible via makemkvcon. I don't see an option to set it. No, this is a persistent setting, once set in preferences it affects both GUI and console. Once obvious bugs in CellWalk are fixed, these shouldn't be any reason to switch these. Hopefully... ...

Nope, that's it. Now you have to wait for keys to be added to the server. It takes time and is not an automatic process. On average it's probably a few days but can certainly take longer. Just check in every so often.
Excellent! Thank you for responding.

Sword and the Sorcerer

I bought the new Sword and the Sorcerer UHD.

I got:
The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted
Failed to open disc

I emailed the AACS dump as requested in the FAQ. Is there anything else I need do?

Thanks!
