Re: LG BH16NS55 Firmware 1.04 (and possibly other new drives)
The sleep bug is where a UHD disc has been sitting idle in drive for more than 2 minute then when yiou try to start a rip, the drive makes grinding noises as it tries to read. You simply open and close the tray to fix. If the Pioneer drive is a UHD model then yes it should be compatible. I'm not su...

Re: LG BH16NS55 Firmware 1.04 (and possibly other new drives)
Just a heads up. I just purchased a BH16NS55 which has a manufactured date of Feb 2019 and comes with firmware revision 1.04 installed. This firmware is nasty! Sorry to revive this old, dead thread but I'm puzzled - what is it about firmware rev. 1.04 that is "nasty"? :?: I have a 2012 Ma...

Re: CXUHD+Lg-BH16NS55
I didn't say the CXUHD could play ISO files over the network. I said it could play media over the network. I play MKVs, AVIs, MP4s etc. over the network on mine. But otherwise given the fact that the CXUHD is an Oppo 203 clone, it can't play ISO images over the network unless you install * cough * ...

Re: CXUHD+Lg-BH16NS55
Yes this is correct. However a BD50 and BD66 should work. But you would have to shrink the movie or just select the titles and audio you want. You guys are trying to convince this poor Spanish person to buy two Blu-ray drives and to remux 4K UHD discs, instead of just recommending he play his FULL-...

Re: CXUHD+Lg-BH16NS55
So, reading this post that you just published I came to the following conclusion (forgive me if I have not understood, guys): If I buy the Pioneer burner and use BDXL discs for my backups, the problem will continue to appear. Because whatever disk I use, the CXUHD will continue to give me reading a...

Re: CXUHD+Lg-BH16NS55
The technology is here, you can backup to a digital file and store on your NAS, Computer or External Hard Drive. We have wonderful things like the Dune 4K Player, Zappiti Player 4K Player, Zidoo 4K Player and of course our much loved Oppo 203 or 205. The weak link in your system is the CXUHD player...

Re: CXUHD+LG-BH16NS55
I have burned 2 Verbatim disc "BDXL 100GB" with the drive "LG-BH16NS55" kindly sold by asmcom 8) But when I insert the disc in the Cambridge Audio CXUHD player, it reads the disc 1 out of 7 times. The other 6 times I get the error message unknown disc. I can't help with the disc...

Re: UHD support
1. You should decrypt it so that you can play the video back, otherwise you'll need to decrypt it with MakeMKV before playing it. Double the work and time. 2. That can mean many things but the 3 most likely are a dirty/bad disc, a defective drive, or bad power/SATA connection. 4. Never seen a drive...

Re: UHD support
Hello, newbie here *waves* Speaking of BH16NS55's ... I bought one (with 1.02 firmware) to back up my UHD discs on a Mac mini running El Capitan 10.11.6, and I just tried my first rip using MakeMKV 1.14.3 for the Mac using Incredibles 2 as my guinea pig test disc. The burner and disc shows up in Mak...

Re: [SOLVED] Error 'Scsi error - ILLEGAL REQUEST:COPY PROTECTION KEY EXCHANGE FAILURE'
I downloaded the MakeMKV program again. I was using 1.14.2 for Mac. It was the same version as the one I was running that was giving me the "ILLEGAL REQUEST" errors. The I ran the replacement version of makemkv the "ILLEGAL REQUEST" errors no longer appeared and the program star...
