most likely a defect in the disc or dirt on the disc, I've gone through this with four sets being getting a complete end to end working version.

Assume you've tried to clean the disc? I often had to clean the disc to get it to read end to end without error.

Forth set lucky! I have now completed the complete rip! only 8 weeks of messing around.
