Thanks.
Apparently I had set up ccextractor some time ago, so I guess it is ripping subtitles somehow, although I don't see any additional external files when I rip the video.
MediaInfo tells me that there are two text streams (VobSub / UTF-8) so that means sub-titles, right?

Includes subtitles by default?
When I rip a DVD using MakeMKV, does it include subtitles by default?
They are ending up there (if I want them) in some programs such as VLC but not in others. Just wondering how they are getting there. Pretty much has to be MakeMKV I think... right?

Re: Two disc set: one will rip, one won't
Follow-up post (should I start a new thread?)
Since my ASUS BW-12B1ST won't read the Blu-ray disc, I should probably get a different brand/model for a secondary drive.
Can anyone recommend some dependable but inexpensive Blu-ray drives to check out?

Two disc set: one will rip, one won't
I am using the latest version and I have a paid license. FWIW, the discs are Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1. I tried to rip Disc 1 a few weeks ago and just noticed that MakeMKV did all of the 'extras' from the disc but not the actual movie. Unfortunately, I did NOT save the log file fr...

Ok. It must not have saved the option... or I clicked "Expert mode" by mistake. All better now. Thanks!

Debug logs?
I enabled debugging in preferences, but I don't see "Debug logging enabled, log will be saved as C:\Users\<username}/MakeMKV_log.txt" or anything like that. Is that feature different now? Where are the debug messages logged?

Change numbering system to start with something >1?
Currently I have: {NAME1}{-:CMNT1}{-:DT}{s3e:+DFLT}{:N2} I want to keep the "s3e" part, but start numbering at, say, "5" instead of "1". Is that possible and if so how? Bonus question: the DVD doesn't "know" what the tracks are named on the DVD menu, right? E....

Re: Possible to rip and include "burned in" sub-titles?
Thank you for the replies. The problem I'm facing with Handbrake is that, no matter what presets or manual settings I choose, it still compresses a 5.5GB MKV DVD rip down to half that size, or even smaller. The video editor that I prefer (VideoRedo, for it's simplicity) "stutters" when I m...

Possible to rip and include "burned in" sub-titles?
Is there any way to include *only* burned-in subtitles when ripping a video?
I.e., the subtitles that would show up even in the movie theatre, or at home regardless of your CC settings? Where the character is speaking in a foreign language and they display the translation automatically.
