Re: Gauging interest in Optical Drive Development
i have tried to get pioneer to start production offering to buy 5,000 drives it was met with silence See this post by asmcom . Pioneer sold their optical drive business to Shanxi Lightchain, so you'd need to contact Shanxi Lightchain, not Pioneer. They've told asmcom that they'd be willing to resta...

Re: Question about blu-ray drives.
@MartyMcNuts yes, the BDR-UD03 drive is of interest. I had a look at Ebay and the pictures, do you know what manufacturing date range the units have in the verbatim case. And do they all come with 1.14 firmware ? I have learned that the BDR-UD04 drive is crappy but the BDR-UD03 hardware is much mor...

Re: confirm correct firmware
Billy, in your guide you mention that the new Archgon doesn't support flashing but you don't mention that it also prevents Libredrive. Maybe you should do an addendum for that issue.Billycar11 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 03, 2026 1:00 amnew archgons cant be flashed in the case and libredrive also wont work in them for not either

Now you got it.DennisOlof wrote: ↑Sun Feb 01, 2026 6:55 pm@Coopervid aha.
Ok, so I only use that device for reading or checking quality of the burn. I understand. Then I only have to get one of these drives, flash it and use it for quality checks.

Re: Compatible drives with opti drive control etc ?
@Coopervid aha, ok. Yeah from what I understand a Vinpower device is just better firmware for duplication (replication) but the hardware was the same as in a regular drive. On Amazon I can see in the comments that someone wrote Manufacture date: Nov. 2024 Manufacturer firmware: 1.V9 Sad that Vinpow...

Re: Compatible drives with opti drive control etc ?
I had a closer look at the list under FAQ and checked my hardware. I have no hardware that will work with opti drive control. Besides I would need a BluRay unit anyway, it is OK if I need to patch a unit to get one working. It is only for checking the discs. It might get hold of a Verbatim drive ne...

Re: Is the BDR-X12UBK flashable and does it support UHD in MakeMKV?
Hello, I currently have the opportunity to buy a BDR-X12UBK from a local guy. I was wondering if it was possible to use it to rip UHD blurays or if it is flashable. I have seen another thread asking this question but there was no answer as the rest of the discussion continued in PMs. I cannot post ...

Re: Compatible drives with opti drive control etc ?
Is there anyone who can help me with this. What hardware still works with opti drive control. There seems to be other tools as well like Nero CD-DVD speed and Plextools or what the name was. Anyway there is a list on the opti site about hardware but it only has the CD, DVD hardware. I want to check...
