Apollo 13 UHD

makemkv appears to rip apollo 13 successfully. must have been pilot error how can I find out the bitrate requirement for apollo 13 and why does apollo 13 HDR work on my tv when MI fallout HDR does not? I'm assuming the latter has a higher bit rate that my 10.2Gbps cables choke on.. I cant tell the d...

Re: Dolby vision disks

Agreed on the dv philosophy and the drama unfolding . The money grab must not be large though or we wouldn't see sub $200 spinners with hdmi output and budget priced TVs with dv. But I agree the complexity, drama, and politics it requires is much greater than any advantage it may have, if any, over ...

Re: Dolby vision disks

I guess when one of the streaming service providers starts offering DV content, the media players will have to support it. Or maybe Dolby wants to license only disk spinners with hdmi outputs ...

Dolby vision disks

First, a question about vision backups without vision capability in the playback chain . Does vision content revert to hdr10?

Now regarding two titles, oceans eight and mission impossible fallout. Have these been successfully backed up? Will these stream to a vision capable tv?

Re: Last version 1.14.2 not work.

I also have fallout, and a stock lg drive with 1.0 firmware on its way from Alex. This is a Dolby vision disk! How will that rip and what happens if there is no DV capability in the playback chain? Roku ultra doesn't support vision. My Samsung uhd tv won't support vision either cause sammy is still ...

Players, hdr, etc

Hi all I'd like to know more about the present state of the of the art for backing up uhd content that must be "supported" by the consumer player. For example hdr10+ and Dolby vision content . The consumer player must "support" such content, which means it either pays homage to D...

Re: The Original "UHD Friendly Drive" Supplier @ Your Service

Hi folks I've been using makemkv now for a few months and love having my disk collection on my plex server. The only issue I have so far is that I ended up ripping pcs audio instead of the ac3 stream but that's a subject for another day and thread . As I have only a lowly DVD drive for my hp probook...
