Hi, I did have the same issue, but with a DVD in a Blu-ray player. With error code 03DF/02, drive stop working, then is missing from system, and had to restart the pc.
But, when I updated the firmware, it startet working fine again.
Disk-drive: ASUS BW-16D1HT
Updated to (from ASUS homepage ...
