Re: ASUS BC-12B1ST
Just looked up what I used sucessfully: (Modified) ASUS ODD FW Changer (24.08.2019) + UHD Friendly Firmwares + Latest MK Pack (14.02.2020).zip I cannot even get it to flash to a uhd friendly firmware. Is there anything else I need to do before I try to flash with the ASUS flasher? Right now when I ...

Re: ASUS BC-12B1ST
The BC-12B1ST is a good little drive. As pointed out it can be flashed with the BW-16D1HT friendly firmware. If you should need one of these I'm happy to supply one. So i'm looking into updating pic related, i've found firmware 3.11 for it but i'm curious about what you posted. Do i just use the AS...

Re: The Professional AV Sync Issues
I only have a loose understanding of this topic, so take everything I say here with a grain of salt. Hopefully folks with more understanding that me will tell us where I'm wrong. What an amazing summary! Thank-you, this is much clearer now. I also appreciate the link you provided detailing exactly ...

The Professional AV Sync Issues
I know everyone who posts about AV Sync Issues seems to be directed to this thread https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21079 but I don't see a definitive answer there--am I missing it? Is it really dropping frames to maintain sync? Thanks! Leon, The Professional UHD Canadian disc UPC 0 433...

New PC, now can't see drive
Wooooooooooow. COVID-brain is real! I'd delete this post, but it's telling me I don't have deletion rights. Turns out I forgot I swapped drives when I built my new PC and put my old PSX-era burner in the external caddy. Inserting a disc into THE CORRECT DRIVE shows the contents as expected. Feel fre...
Re: P90X3
Trying to create an ISO of the entire disc with Imgburn failed. I then turned to IsoPuzzle and it read the entire disc to an ISO without issue. I was expecting to have to attempt several passes with my 3 readers and stitch the data together, but...nope! MakeMKV was then able to rip the playlist from...
P90X3
I've followed the other threads about these discs and managed to rip all of them save 2 using manual mode. I'm curious if providing my debug log would get me any further toward getting the last two. The disc are clean, but I'm lead to believe these are (intentional?) mastering errors. I've had to us...

Re: titles extract without issue but disc backups corrupt
Mike,
I re-installed 1.14.2 and turned on debug logging. Re-ripped all 3 discs without any issue. I guess I *was* on 1.14.1?

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Thinking this is the best place to ask: So making a disc backup with MakeMKV--choosing to decrypt the contents retains the DV layer? It's not explicitly stated that the backups discussed in this thread used the "decrypt" option, though I don't see how you could hand off any of the material...

Re: titles extract without issue but disc backups corrupt
Rolling back to v1.12.2 resolves the issue and I can successfully backup discs. @mike admin is this possibly a bug with 1.14.2? There was a bug in 1.14.1, but it was fixed in 1.14.2 . Can you please double-check the version? Quite certain. I made sure i was on the latest version (1.14.2) as I thoug...

Re: titles extract without issue but disc backups corrupt
I've read the hashcheck error help page which says it's likely a failing drive. I'm certainly open to this possibility, but I'm confused as to why I can still pull all the titles into MKVs and they play fine, while trying to backup a disc results in hashcheck errors. How can I pull the MKVs if my d...

Re: UHD support
The ASUS BC-12B1ST should be ok for “crossflashing” to the BW-16D1HT firmware if it was built in 2015 or later. In this case it’s probably older. We go by the sticker on the top of the drive to discover manufacturing date? I've got a ASUS BC-12B1ST with 2017 02 28 printed on it, and a visible date ...

Re: UHD support
READ this regarding the 12B1ST drive. It is NOT a supported drive. ... There are VERY specific requirements that need to be met by Friendly drives to work. Read this: ... If your drive does NOT meet ALL of the requirements, then it will not work in any way for UHD decryption. If the drive is too ol...

Re: ASUS BW-12B1ST
I must have some one of a kind Voodoo drive, as I've ripped 21 of my UHD discs without issue with the OEM version of this drive ("C" instead of "W"). Only thing is I can't seem to make disc backups--just rip titles to MKVs, so maybe it's "sort of friendly"? ASUS B C -12...
