Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Ordering from Play TV would have cost me $192 all combined. I ordered it from Diffingle Store where it was a little bit cheaper. A second one, nice. How is fast forwarding FEL movies? Does it crash in CoreElec while attempting to go to the next chapter or fast forwarding? Next chapter and fast forw...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

I got that. I know it's being worked on and I have a sony x700 to keep me satisfied for FEL playback while the software part of the AM8 gets optimized. I'll wait if need be, the development at CoreElec seems to have made great progress in the last few months so I'm pretty sure we'll get something w...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

The AM8 has the successor chip to the AM6B+ that everybody is boasting about. And like I said in my post, since the AM6B+ is sold almost everywhere in my country and beyond (Europe) the AM8 is actually cheaper with a more direct availability. So I don't necassarily want it because it's 'better' but...

Reset, after baking the BL and EL (with DoViBaker, I presume), what are the steps to get the original RPU converted to P8?

Did you succeed with the conversion to P8?

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Ok, of course, but i'm intrigued why are you so sure and categorical. It's because new firmwares are worst in certain aspects? In the past I've had issues with stutters caused by not having enough free RAM. The default launcher seems to use more memory, and I still have a custom leaner launcher ins...

Anyone seeing random HDMI resyncs with the Ugoos, even while viewing the movie list on Plex? I’m seeing that, and can’t watch movies for more than a couple minutes without resync or black screens.
Try another cable. Worked for me with minix u22

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

It was fun testing but not even Dolby vision can make me want to use android. Back to CoreELEC and hopefully something materialize soon.

Just ripped 1917 and after a little choppiness in the begining playback has been flawless.

Wow, this Minix option is exciting, especially if we could get away from Android, with maybe a CoreELEC option. I guess that I'm going to have to add to my media box collection! Anybody know if this could be made to work on a Vero+?
If the vero uses the 4.9 vendor kernel.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

I thought Quietvoid said this wasn’t possible in Linux? It’s possible now if someone built a 32 bit version of CoreELEC. The devs would rather a 64 bit Dolby Vision kernel module. 64 bit DV library is unlikely since Amlogic only have a 32 bit SDK, Dolby only provide them 32 bit library. I got this ...

Right, it's only possible because the SoC manufacturer has provided the proprietary kernel info for these new chips.
There are older open sourced versions on Github, but I assume these devices run on Linux 4.9+ now.
