Good information, thank you! It turns out my problem was something else entirely. On my import copy, the end of each title had an extra chapter entitled 'textless elements'. When I go to encode these, I can just make the stop point the beginning of these chapters.

I can confirm that for a fact, the Red Box playlist of 299 is not correct. I got about 15 minutes into the film when the scenes started to jump around.

Welp, I can confirm that 00473.mpls IS NOT the correct playlist.

I'm not sure if this is correct or not, but both HandBrake and MPC-HC defaulted to 00473.mpls for me. I've already ripped it, but haven't had a chance to watch it yet.
