I did find what appears to be a workaround for this problem.
Using VLC I identified the titles that corresponded to the the two episodes on disc 1. I followed the method outlined here for that:

Improper mpls read/bug?
I've got a disc (The Incredible Hulk 2008) which is experiencing a mpls read error/bug. It's the first playlist and it should contain segments 153-175. Reading the disc produces:
