Alright, thanks. I'm going to pick some Pledge up tomorrow and see how it works. Do you recommend using a microfiber cloth or a finger to apply it?

Thanks Woodstock. Yeah, the issue must be the damage to the actual disc itself. What's your recommended "all out" way to clean it. the "last resort" clean if you will. What are some things I can do beyond wiping the disc off with warm water and a light cloth? Toothpaste?

Hi all - back again. Still ripping DVDs and I've had a couple of issues like this one. I examine the DVD before putting it in the drive, and it usually looks ok. There are light scratches and all, but nothing terrible. I always try ripping with handbrake first, because it's the fastest, and I don't ...

new problem - ripping interactive dvd
alrighty folks, i've got another conundrum. I have an interactive DVD that I'm trying to rip. Depending on the DVD, I usually can just copy the contents of the DVD over to a folder, and that's how they work. however, with this DVD, it is more like a movie with menus. There is a main menu, and three s...

Re: Source file at .... is corrupt or invalid, attempting to work around
Thanks, so I suppose my best bet is to clean the discs off as best I can, try ripping, and if errors occur then they are either burned wrong or physically damaged.

Re: Source file at .... is corrupt or invalid, attempting to work around
Thanks Woodstock, I will try cleaning the discs again... You don't think there could be a problem with the way the disc was burned originally, do you? These aren't "factory" DVDs, they are user created. Could the way the disc was burned affect MakeMKV's ability to rip it? Or do the errors ...

Re: Source file at .... is corrupt or invalid, attempting to work around
Same issue happened with another disc. The source file '/VIDEO_TS/VTS_01_1.VOB' is corrupt or invalid at offset 461740032-461762560, attempting to work around that is one of the errors it is giving me. I'm trying to figure out why some of these DVDs won't rip in Handbrake or MakeMKV. The discs thems...

Source file at .... is corrupt or invalid, attempting to work around
So I'm trying to rip some burned DVDs (these aren't factory DVDs, like a movie.) They are DVDs of educational clips that someone has asked me to convert to a digital format. I tried handbrake but it "completed" the ripping 2 minutes through with a 10 minute video clip as a result (the actu...
