I disabled my external video lav and applied the internal video LAV with the EXACT same settings and then BAM!!! I got HW support on the UHD rips! and no drops on blade runner!!!!



Would you mind explaining a little more on what you did? I'm using MPC-BE and Shark007 codec ...

Just picked up an Asus BC-12D2HT but even with Firmware 3.01 I'm still getting "No disc inserted" unfortunately. Will give a firmware flash a go tomorrow and cross my fingers.

What player are you guys using? I was hoping to use PowerDVD as I have the '14 license but would pay for '18 if it worked better (I'm after Dolby Atmos and I don't know that other players offer bitstreaming options?).

Currently I'm also getting choppy playback with an i7 4790k and GTX1070 with 16GB ...

Just wanted to post another semi success story (fingers crossed that it worked, but I can't test it until later today!)

I take it the main advantage of LG support being on the horizon for the WH16NS60, and to grab one of them over an Asus BC-12D2HT is for future proofing a little? Is the idea that an 'official' drive will now be compatible with backups so any future firmware updates for new disc releases shouldn't be ...

Hmm well an LG WH16NS60 is going to set me back about $250aud from Amazon with the runaround of getting it shipped here (as Amazon won't directly ship anymore) whereas I could get an ASUS BW-16D1HT-PRO for $119 locally...

Can I just confirm with others that you MUST have the SVC code NS50 for an LG BH16NS40? Is the difference that one can ready BDXL and the other can't (even though the model number is the same?).
